If you're looking for a phone packed with every useful feature that a $300+ phone would cost... this is it. This phone has everything that I wanted in a phone: the best all around reception of any phone that I've tried (quad band), a decent camera, excellent hands free (people can't even tell that I'm using it), expandable memory, MP3 ring tones, MP3 playback and it's relatively quick charging.

In my opinion, the only negative part of this phone is its size. It's bulky, due to its thickness and overall girth. This is why I gave it a four out of five.

This is an excellent phone for much less than others with equivalent features.

The Nokia 6085 is not only a relatively low cost flip phone with stereo Bluetooth, but also a lightweight compact music device with a built-in MP3 player, expandable memory and an FM radio.

Nokia 6085 is a good-looking phone with high quality entertainment features for the user to enjoy, because you get almost all the features that are usually embedded in today's phones, at a reasonable price.

However, Nokia 6085 features a low-end VGA camera with a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. More features of the camera include self-timer and image sequence.

Despite its low price, the 6085 includes few nice multimedia features, the best of all being Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). The MMS message (Multimedia Messaging Service) can include photo or video with text & music or sound to complete the finishing effect.

Other features of the 6085 include: voice recording, voice commands, plus hands-free speaker; Macromedia Flash Player 2.

The quoted battery life is five hours talk time and 240 hours standby time, which held up pretty close to claims, though as usual, the use of the multimedia features will drain the phone quite quickly.

The 6085 is a very affordable phone that got most of the features that users would want from a phone today.

Overall, it is a good camera phone for anyone who's shopping on a budget. Weighing just 84 grams, the Nokia 6085 is very easy to carry around in a pocket or a bag.

The first feature a phone needs to have is strong reception. I own one of these phones from ATT and was so impressed got another one for my Dad in another country (Quad band phone helps here). I tried a Tmobile Sim card on the unlocked phone. With this phone, I could now get reception everywhere inside my house. Tried the same sim card on a Razr, a Sony-Ericsson, and a Samsung - and can get reception only near the windows. This point alone has me thrilled. I am impressed enough with its reception that I felt the need to write a review to correct the nonsense out there.

Other pros -
Very sturdy build (just like other Nokia phones).
Camera is VGA but takes surprisingly usable pics with good color but plenty of grain if the light is low.
Quad band phone - works worldwide.
Built in speaker is good quality - works well as a speaker phone or for playing music.
Interface is totally customisable (big plus for me). I can now access bluetooth menu via one keypress.
Small in size. Flip design means screen and keys are protected by default.
I put a 2 gig card in there - plenty of storage for all the videos, voice, and pics - and the phone can be told to use this memory by default (very convenient).
Bluetooth works well with no issues using multiple bluetooth headsets from motorola and jabra.
Voice recording works well.
Bluetooth works smoothly - if you have a stereo bluetooth headset - this phone can be your MP3 player. Complete with customisable and preset equalizers.
Light and small.
Keys are large - easy to see - with solid tactile feedback.
Loud ringer - very convenient.
Good voice quality - both for the person listening to you and at your end.

Cons -
Does not have a standard mini-usb jack for data. Charging also uses a custom jack. This is the ONLY thing I hate about this phone.
Doesn't "look" as good - but - what good are "looks" if the reception sucks (like my samsung)?
Video is a jerky and pretty low rez - but you can shoot for as long as you want with the memory card.
I only get 3 - 4 days standby with both my phones with some usage thrown in.
Radio needs use of a stereo headset (my mono nokia headset did not seem to cut it - not that I have use for a radio).
Screen was marginally better on the Samsung - but it rated a zero for poor reception.
No headphone jack - so I can't use my existing earphones for listening to music.

If you have reception issues - this is a phone to consider. It has all the features you will normally use in a small sturdy flip phone. Plus - everything works - and works well.

I've had my Nokia 6085 for 2 months now and can attest that when compared to all of the other brand cell phones in this price range, it by far has the most features commonly used-- bluetooth connectivity for a headset, voice-dialing, easy file transfer/photo storage using a micro-SD card, an mp3 player, and an FM tuner. It also receives well, and the battery has been lasting me for close to a week while alternating between stand-by mode and "off".

The only adverse comments I'll make here are with regards to the following two things--

1. This phone does not have a very loud ringer. This is a major peeve I have with this product, and only found out after the trial period was up that many other customers had complained about it. If you're thinking of purchasing one of these, go check one out at a phone store. Try it out in a case, clipped to your belt (or in a purse) with the ringer on "max" and see if you can hear it. I've tried both the factory rings, and .wavs, and I'm having trouble (and yes my hearing is good!).

2. Clumsy to use controls. Nokia could have done better with this--I personally hate to dig through multiple levels of menus to find things, making some of the phone's cool features very tedious to use. The speakerphone feature, for example, has no default setting, and only allows a user to turn it "on" after an outgoing call has gone through.

To sum up, it's not a bad phone, and definitely a value for the money. I would advise though that you check one out in person to see if the ringer is going to be loud enough for you, and that you can find/easily use the phone's features.

My wife and I been having these cell phones for about a year now and I have mixed feeling about the cell phone. It was free when we got this via AT&T wireless plan for the family so I do not have much to complain.

PROS:

(+) Better than average Battery life 3 hours talk time and 10 days standby time

(+) Music Player plays MP3 and WMA, Music Quality is good for a phone of this price.

CONS:

(-) The 1.8-inch (128x160 pixels) internal display is the most disappointing part of this cell phone. Graphics and photos are grainy and the colors seems to be washed out.

It still is a very nice phone for the price especially that these are Unlocked Versions of the cell phones that can be used with any wireless carriers, but do not expect too much from this Cell Phone as there are better ones out there in today's world of clamshell type of cell phones.

this phone may look very basic, but the perks are unbelievable. for years i've been wanting aphone that i could plug into my computer to download music and photos easily. this phone allows it (and believe me, i've been having a ton of fun with it.) you can create your own ringtones rather than being hampered by the phone company's limited selection and ridiculous prices. you can download photos from your computer rather than buying them from the phone company or taking mediocre shots with the camera phone. you save a ton of money if you're into ringtones and graphics - you don't have to pay for ringtones or graphics when you make them yourself. by far the best feature of this phone is the micro SD memory chip. you basically have unlimited storage capacity for all of your files - and your phone acts as a USB flash drive. all you have to do is buy a micro SD chip for about 40 dollars to have 8 gigs of storage on your phone. compare that to the iphone! the iphone is out of storage when it runs out - you can't just plug a new chip into it. not to mention that you pay a hundred extra dollars to get 16 gigs of storage on the phone. (my phone came with a 512 MB micro SD chip - which has more than enough storage for me - for right now)

in conclusion, i wouldn't trade this phone for anything! it is truly the best phone i've ever had.

Pros:
-Outstanding battery life
-Outstanding bluetooth operation
-Very good receiver sensitivity (reads weak signals well)
-Very fast processor time
-Rarely drops calls
-Good voice quality reports using Nokia BH-700 bluetooth
-Good everyday reliability
Cons:
-Voice recognition is terrible / unusable / using Nokia BH-700 bluetooth
-Faint but useable incoming call tone (while on bluetooth)

This is actually the second Nokia 6085h I have owned the first one quit working after 18 days. The second one although working is failing fast now just a year old. The issues I am having with this model are plenty:

1) The screen has a dark dead line across the center;
2) Frequent SIM Card can not be read issues (there is nothing wrong with the SIM card have tried several cards;
3) It doesn't ring sometimes when a call is received you find out hours later when you go to dial some one that you have voice messages. This has happened numerous times;
4) Finding a signal and keeping it ... I live in the shadow of a cell tower owned by the cellular provider I am with and on occasion this phone will say no service or give 1 bar or 2 bars. Very poor for maintaining a signal;
5) The camera does really suck but I didn't get it for the camera;
6) Holding the phone and placing a finger or any thing over the top outside portion of the screen will cause the person you are talking to not be able to hear you; basically as if your dropping the call;
7) Not especially durable, as some have said the plastic feels fragile and it is.

Some good things about the phone:

1) Good volume control;
2) Apps are good;
3) I found the menu navigation pretty straight forward;
4) Once you get a USB data cable transferring files is easy allowing to select mp3's for a ring tone;
5) It is likely a good phone I think I just got unlucky and ended up with two lemons.

This is a great phone even if you don't plan to do any traveling...the fact that it's unlocked alows you the freedom to do so!

I purchased this cell phone supposedly new and because it had a warranty. Right after my 30 day product warranty ran out...wouldn't you know it, the liquid screen went on my phone. They told me ALL parts are covered under my warranty EXCEPT the liquid screen! Of course!
