5.0 out of 5 stars Great Basic Cell Phone, June 16, 2011
This review is from: Nokia 6350 Phone, Red (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
I've been reading various reviews regarding this model and I have to say that I don't understand how someone can write a scathing review before ordering a cell phone for a contract service before checking out what kind of coverage is in their area. Spiteful comments because you don't do your research is pathetic.

Now, before I decided to order this particular model, I did what every customer should do, I checked out the coverage map that AT&T has for the area that I live in. After discovering that they coverage the majority of the state, I ordered this model. Now, while I'm no fan of AT&T, I've found that in the past two weeks that I have had this family share plan with this particular cell phone model that I haven't experienced any dropped calls or service problems as it relates to this phone. Even my mom is happy with it and I got these two contract phones so my mom would have something reliable to use and she's almost 70.

While it may not suit everyone, these companies seem to be switching everything over to touch screen cell phones and I find touch screen cell phones to be an annoyance. Hopefully, you won't let scathing reviews deter you from picking up this cell phone. I would recommend checking out your area cell phone coverage from AT&T as well as checking out the video reviews from CNet. You can find these video reviews through a Google search.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good enough to be free, September 25, 2010

This is an awful, awful phone. After having used the Nokia 6085 since it was released, I was very disappointed to see the "upgrades" made for this model. It has very few new features, and most of those that are new will require an additional fee. For instance, there are new GPS and PTT buttons on the phone--which accidentally get pressed constantly--but you have to pay to actually use them. There is no outer camera button, unlike most phones I have used (which isn't a huge deal). The navigation and start/end call buttons are all way too small and I end up hitting the wrong ones if I'm not looking.

The phone has a nice design, but it leaves fingerprints too easily and if you try to wipe them off, it becomes smudged. Unless you wear rubber gloves, this is going to look dirty all the time. The outer case of the phone has audio playback buttons, which are constantly being pressed while the phone is in my pocket, which means I often have to stop what I'm doing so I can turn off the sound. Open and navigating the menu is such a chore because it is very slow and unresponsive. I often accidentally open up the MEdial Mall because I press the button twice, thinking it didn't work the first time.

On top of that, this phone is very unforgiving when it comes to custom ringtones. All ringtones have to be under a very small filesize (even if stored on a MicroSD card), which means that none of my 100+ custom ringtones will work and I am stuck with the annoying defaults. But worst of all, the battery life is a joke. I could talk regularly on my 6085 and easily go a week without needing to charge it (I didn't even bother to take my charger with me on vacations). The 6350, however, won't last much longer than two days, even with minimal usage.

There is very little redeeming about this phone. Visually, it's a nice-looking phone. Despite the cheap-feeling plastic, it seems to be durable enough. The reception is very good, but that is something I have come to expect from Nokia phones, so it does nothing to set itself apart in a positive way. Overall, this is a horrid phone and I am severely disappointed. Currently, I am feverishly working on a way to get my old 6085 working again.
