You all are wearing it wrong.,

The little adjustable plastic piece between the mic and earpieces slides up and down. Then you pull it apart and put it back together behind your neck (like a necklace) then the mic can be wherever you like.Hope this helps you all!

You've Been Using It Wrong,

The guy is correct. You all have been using the headset wrong. Its a common mistake. I even wore it that way a few months before I realized there was a mic integrated inside. You adjust the position of the white clip that is located between the earbuds and the microphone. Seperate the clip into two halves. Reconnect the clip in the back so that your neck is between the mic and the clip. Then plug the earbuds in your ears. I have to say that the mic is extremely sensitive. Even if you dont wrap the so that the mic is closer to your mouth you will still be heard. I have had complaints about being too loud when I wear it how it is designed to be worn. I even have conversations with it through my winter coat without a problem.

The design is obvious! It took my 9 year old daughter exactly 15 seconds to work them out. :-) the microphone is as good as anything I have used.I don't listen to radio, but I have used them as handsfree. Only problem I find (but then I find it with all 'buds') is they are a little too big for my petite, delicate, little ear holes.

My cord has the straight connector instead of the 90 degree one that this one has but is otherwise identical. Works great except that it gets loose at times and the sound will only work in one ear until you snugly plug it back in again. I wish it had a 2.5mm or 3.5mm plug, but blame Nokia for that. Sound quality is pretty good. Better than a lot of stereo ear buds out there. All this time I have been using it incorrectly as the reviews have pointed out. It still picks up the sound well even with the mic way down in my lap and flipped over. Now that I know how to use it (duh), it should work even better. I gave it 4 stars because of the loose connection issue.

I put the earbuds in, slide the little plastic piece down to my waist, pull it apart and reassemble it behind my neck. That brings the microphone up to the perfect location, and the cords are kind of "hidden" behind your back. Then I turn on the radio, put the phone in my pocket and go. I think it's a pretty ingenious design, and I really like that you can change your FM presets by pushing the rubber button on the microphone. On the downside, the stereo effect can be intermittent. I often lose FM stereo entirely while walking, or it comes in and out. I don't know if it's just a faulty cord design or what, but that could really be improved upon, as it's really annoying when it happens. Mike, thanks for the review and the photo! Hopefully everyone can look at it and rediscover this fun headset.

I received this as a birthday present, and thought that it would be really neat. I was wrong. It appears that the people at Nokia didnt really give this head set a test drive. When you are wearing the piece, the microphone is about 18 inches away from your mouth. Very hard for people to hear you when you are talking to them. Also, the cord from the microphone to the phone is very short, so you can't even put the phone in your pocket and keep the headset on to listen to the radio at the same time. On the good side, everything sounded very good through the ear phones(everything was a little loud for my taste), and when I held the microphone up to my mouth, people said I sounded crisp and clear--although holding the microphone kind of defeats the purpose of a hands free headset...I highly recommend looking into some other product.

WORST DESIGNED HEADSET EVER,

I have been the recipient of the following comments while "using" this headset - and experimenting with the mic held at various distances, even NEXT TO my mouth:"You sound like you're talking over a 1970s school PA system" "You sound like you're calling from Europe... in the 1950s" "I can't hear a word you're saying" "Speak up!!!" "Are you in a tunnel?" "GET A NEW HEADSET!!!!" ...let it be said I wish for this product there were negative stars; because of this "headset" I now have radiating pain from my neck to my hand due to being forced to cradle my tiny cell phone between my ear and shoulder. I'm still trying to find a better headset that will fit this crazy Nokia jack and also work with the radio on my 7280!! Help is welcome!

Let me get the good out of the way first: The earbuds sound pretty good. The radio on my 6800 was clear and loud. So, that's it for the good. It feels like nobody at Nokia actually thought this product through before putting it on the market. I wanted a stereo earbud for my phone, and for my fiance's phone, and this seemed to fit the bill. But though the radio sound is good (actually, it's a little too loud, even wth the volume at 0), the headset is useless as a handsfree cellphone device. The microphone is about 18" south of your mouth, making it impossible for anyone to hear you speak, and the cord from the microphone to the phone is very short, making it impossible to put the phone in your pocket. I really like the idea behind this product, but the implementation is all wrong, making it truly useless, and definitely not worth the money!

Terrible Design, Useless Product,
By
This review is from: OEM Nokia E60 N73 N80 N90 N93 7250 9500 Stereo Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
It is surprising that Nokia created a product with such a glaring design flaw. The location of the microphone makes this headset basically useless. Unfortunately, time constraints prevented me from researching this product beforehand. While traveling in London, I was unable to find a mono OEM headset for my Nokia 6820 (see review) and purchased the only compatible headset I was able to locate. The microphone is 24.5 inches from either earpiece. For a person of average height, the microphone will rest on the top of the belt buckle. Obviously, the distance is too great. However, to aggravate the acoustical problems, the microphone has a tendency to flop around and face inward, further muffling the sound. It is interesting that my 6820 doesn't allow the user to play FM through a mono headset at all, but then only plays phone conversations through one earpiece. It was my hope that the sound came through both ears to improve audibility in noisy environments. It is almost if Nokia schemed to encourage consumers to purchase a useless product. Shame on them. Cons Terrible Microphone Positioning Easily tangles No dual mono audio for phone conversations Earpieces are not form fitting, virtually no reduction of background noise Pros Solid construction |
