Nokia AC4-U Factory Original Travel Chargers for N95 6101 and Others - Retail Packaging - Black

The item being sold here is actually a Nokia AC-4U charger (might be nice to include that information somewhere, seller!). Though it is a "small barrel" charger, it WILL NOT NECESSARILY work with any "small barrel" Nokia cell phone (particularly newer models). Even worse, it may *appear* to work, but not actually charge your phone! This is what happened with my Nokia E51 - the plug fits fine, when I plug it in it beeps and says "Charging" and shows the charging animation. But then when I go to pick it up in the morning, not only has it not charged the phone - the battery is completely dead! It actually *drained* the battery faster by having it plugged in!

The "compatible" charger that Nokia recommends for most of their newer phones is the AC-8U. Unfortunately you'll find you have to pay substantially more to pick it up. This is what is posted on Nokia's web site about the AC-8U: "Charge any Nokia device with a Nokia 2 mm charging interface." Sounds good! Now contrast that to what it says about the AC-4U (the item being sold here):

"* WARNING: Use only batteries, chargers, and enhancements approved by Nokia for use with this particular model. The use of any other types may invalidate any approval or warranty, and may be dangerous."

Uh oh! That doesn't sound good! Not only may it invalidate your warrany, it "may be dangerous". Beware of exploding batteries!

This is inexcusable on Nokia's part, especially if people have actually damaged their phones this way. It also makes me wonder about what might happen with the "imitation" chargers you can buy at reputable places like Target and Radioshack. Here's a hint, Nokia: If using an old model charger can cause your phone to explode, alter the connector type so no one uses the wrong one by accident!

Don't buy this adapter!! The picture shown is not what you will receive, the picture shows a genuine Nokia adapter but what you get is a cheap piece of crap that doesn't even have the same specifications as the Nokia adapter. So if you don't want to fry your device, don't buy this.

item arrived as described, regular charger with the new nokia tip. It works great on my E61.

I was using a generic phone charger with my Nokia E50 before and the average charge time for a dead battery was about 3 hours. The battery life was way below standards. After using the original nokia charger, I can charge two dead batteries in less than 3 hours and the phone does perform better in terms of battery life. Using an original nokia charger also protects you from inadvertently damaging your phone or your battery.

I purchased two of tese chargeres. They both worked perfectly for "One" day, charged my Nokia N800 and Nokia Ld-30 GPS receiver. The next day both chargers cease to function and both my devices were fried. Im out over $300.00 from an $8.00 purchase. I will never purchase anything from this vendor and I recommend no one should. Unless it is from the manufacturer of the original device I will not puchase. This was a costly lesson to learn. I would recommend that Amamzon drop this vendor.

There's not much to say about this charger - it's the official Nokia charger for most phones made in the last two years, and it works from any mains connection into which you can fit the US-type blades, regardless of voltage.

I've used this with my E90 and N810 with no problems, though I might add that it doesn't seem to charge even half as quickly as the charger that came with the devices originally, despite being the same size.

It was an OEM Nokia charger for really cheap. It was a great deal

If you're at work for extended periods, travel a lot, or your phone has poor battery life then keep this in your bag - it's invaluable.

Otherwise, just buy one and keep it in you're bag just in case - it's cheap and functional.

I should have realized that one does not get an authentic Nokia charger for $6(it was marked down to that from $24). Here I am thinking that it seems like such a good deal and this cheap charger with the name "NAKLA" shows up. I think ok, maybe this is one of those third party things which might just work and then plug it in. Initially, I plug it in for a whole hour and I see that it has charged to about 20%. A normal Nokia charger would charge it to almost 90% in that time!

I was on a 15 minute phone call and then the battery just died on me. I plugged the charger and then there is this black screen that I have never seen before on my E71. I was trying to firmly press the pin and the pin just snapped. I regret having purchased this product. I need a new charger now and I am not even sure if I can turn my phone on again. Maybe this mistake has even cost me my battery.

Bought two of these so I can have them in various places (work, school, home) to charge my Nokia E71x phone. Worked as advertised. One of them did not worked when arrived (the plug didn't go all the way in to the phone). Contacted vendor and they promptly sent another one out. These are just chargers so there is not much to write about.
