5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic client for both phone call and music
I purchased it about 3 weeks ago, simply like this client.
It works pretty well with TP2, music playback is smooth, no drop-off within effective range; voice calls is very good too, the microphone is very good and clear, and rather sensitive that you don't need to put close.
It has very good music quality, and rather loud with Sennheiser PXC150, not all audio...

It has very good music quality, and rather loud with Sennheiser PXC150, not all audio player can drive this headphones, but this one can, and I just turn up a bit and get the maximum volume. It can connect to last host by pressing play button without to mess with host, and it can play up to 7 hours as claimed.
The build feels OK, the clip is made by plastic and it's not movable, and is likely to break, it can hold well on fleece or jacket, but it's loose on shirt pocket.
If you want to have a good bluetooth stereo client, this is one for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars BH-214: Great Product! The User Review., August 9, 2010
This review is from: Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Detachable Headphones - White (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The Nokia BH-214 works great! First and foremost, the device is easy to use. I've connected it to my EVO4 (primary device), my MacBook Pro, and my NetBook (running Windows XP) with no issues what so ever. The device is easy to detect, easy to connect, and holds the connection very well. I get roughly 7 hours of battery life with a single charge which gets me through a whole business day. Second, the BH-214 not an amplifier. However, the sound quality is very good for music and the stereo reception for voice calls is also very good. Finally, the BH-214 works great with both my phone and music applications (doubleTwist) for my phone. I am very happy with performance (all the buttons work without issue - especially for doubleTwist). Some people have complained about it not working with other applications, but I am quite sure its the applications that aren't working with the BH-214.

Now the reason it gets only four stars. First, the device is very small and very light. You can clip it near the buttons of your polo or dress shirt (vertically) to your shirt, but clipping it to a pocket (horizontally) is more challenging as the buttons are then difficult to then use. Small and lightweight also makes the BH-214 feel cheap and rather fragile. I feel like I could break off the clip without much effort (I haven't yet, and I am quite hard on my things). While it doesn't pull on your clothes, it doesn't feel overly secure either. Second, the buttons are somewhat challenging to use. The power button has to be pressed hard for a couple of seconds to turn on or off. The volume buttons (on the side) require you to press and repress to lower the volume two levels (as opposed to pressing it once and having it automatically lower the volume one level at a time). The buttons on the face of the device are slick and easy to slide over and miss. Finally, microphone for voice calls is difficult to use outdoors as it does pick up background noise. This is probably the biggest issue with the BH-214 is that street noise will seriously impact the voice quality (not just a small impact - make calls very difficult for the person on the other end of the conversation).

Overall, I am impressed. I am happy with the device. I wished it did a better job of blocking background noise for voice calls. I give it four stars.

this item is the best bluetooth item i have bought. it is much better than any of the sonys i tried. the sound volume will go as loud as you want it. I did not like the other brands because the volume wouldnt cover the lawn mower noice.. So basicly worthless..i use these alot while mowing the lawn. with the sony i could barely hear the music. however these are plenty loud. big difference. the battery life is good. I have only had them 2 weeks, but i will keep you posted. It has been 5 months still working great I use these everyday. My car stereo got stolen, so these get alot of use.. I love this product and it has now made me a loyal nokia customer. I dont like the on off switch, however still a great product for me. March 20 2011.. They still work fine. however now almost 2 years old. The battery no longer charges all the way. I still can mow for 5 hours straight with them on. I can mow 8 hours if i plug them in the car charger between jobs.. The power button feels like its dieing. Real spongy..So they still work great but the battery is starting to die. I will see if i can figure out how to get a new battery in here. If not i predict this will be there last mowing season..

2.0 out of 5 stars Well, it works...but not as well as I'd hoped..., March 27, 2010
This review is from: Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Detachable Headphones - White (Wireless Phone Accessory)
So, I initially loved the aesthetics of this device and what it was purported to be able to do. I can't speak to the functionality for this being used with a phone, but I can tell you that with a music player it is NOT up to par. I am using mine with my iPod Touch and pairing is simple, sound quality is great, but just as another reviewer stated, the buttons are not responsive. On more than one occasion I've had to resort to angry repeated mashing of the play/pause button to get it to actually stop or start the music. It's a pain in the ass. I bought this because I'm a cycle commuter and music definitely makes the miles pass quicker but if I can't get my player to simply start and stop when I want it to, then why did I spend the money? Oh, and just so you know...if you have an iPod that's all it (or any other bluetooth headset) will do...play, and pause. You can't skip tracks forward or backward. Apple's site states this too if you check their AVRCP information on their product info pages. There IS however a solution to this...go to the App store and get Bluetooth Helper. It's a go between that will enable you to skip forward and back in your playlist. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it works...just not with the Nokia headset though, because the button presses are unreliable on it. I have a Jabra BT3030 that I was going to replace with the Nokia, but I'm just gonna stick with it now because it works better. Additionally, the iPod "loves" that headset. I have to manually select the Nokia to pair with but my Touch will immediately find and pair with my Jabra once both units are activated. It also works better with the Bluetooth Helper app I just described. Bottom line...Forget this one, save your money, and go get the Jabra BT3030. It too allows you to use any headphones you want, and the sound quality is great as well. Hope this helped!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product for the price!, February 19, 2011

This review is from: Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Detachable Headphones - White (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I've used this item pretty regularly for about a month now. I haven't used it for phone conversation yet, so I cannot comment on that feature. I use it almost daily to workout at the gym and when flying on Blackhawks and Chinooks, which can be a very loud ride, requiring earplugs. The noise cancelling earbuds that come with are exceptional for their purpose! They block out noise just as good as my SureFire Sonic Defenders ear plugs. Also, in the gym where I am at in Afghanistan, they play music VERY loud. I have no problems hearing my P90X video as I am perfoming my workout, plus the range is impressive, allowing me to roam freely throughout the gym up to about 75 feet or so from my iPhone, before it starts dropping packets. The earbuds are designed kind of awkwardly, with one wire being about 6 inches, and the other about 18 inches. It took me several workouts til I finally found a configuration that is comfortable and allows for full range of head motion w/o pulling on the buds. All in all, a great BT product!

5.0 out of 5 stars All that I wanted, December 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Detachable Headphones - White (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This item works really well, especially considering its price. I use it with my iPhone and it seems to have full functionality, including all of the iPod buttons, accepting and ending phone calls, and voice control. It does appear that one or two of the apps I've downloaded onto the iPhone don't interface with it.

The only complaints I will give, even though they not issues for me, are the following; The four main operation buttons (phone, start/pause, forward, backward) are on one square rocking button and the icons aren't differentiated very well, so you can't really operate it by feel-alone. However, I've gotten used to it supprisingly quickly. I also wish I didn't have to hold the power button quite so long before it started up. I wouldn't recommend this if you take calls while drivng a lot, unless you routinely wear the earphone while you drive even when you aren't talking because fishing it out of the glove box, holding down the "on" button for 4-5 seconds, and untangling the headphones would be dangerous while driving. But I don't think this is marketed for that purpose. But these are tiny gripes.

The sound is clear and sharp and carries plenty of bass and the headphones that come with it are pretty good. I like the fact that you can switch out the headphones for any pair that you like, even though I haven't wanted to actually switch them yet. The battery life has seemed adequate, but not exceptional. I can listen to the iPod for several hours before it goes dead (I'm not exactly sure how many hours because I've never listed for more than a couple hours at a time. I run, workout, and do yardwork with these with no problems. I would buy this again if it were lost.

I've owned a Motorola, Jabra, Blue Ant bluetooths (blueteeth?) and Plantronics stereo headset. This Nokia, paired with my Moto Q, provides better sound than any of them, and my wife reports that the microphone is also superior to any of the others. The Plantronics 855 headset was quite satisfactory (until I went swimming with it) but it was about a hundred bucks...and the sound and mike on this one is superior. Can't speak to reliability, I just got it...but I think I might consider a Nokia phone next time based on the quality of this headset.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some functions work w/ iPhone, May 27, 2010

The music controls mostly don't work with iPhone, but answering (one press), call back (two press), or voice control (one long press) work well. Easy to start music, or listen to streaming casts (control with iPhone screen).
Buds act as earplugs, block out noise. Can use any other headphones with 1/8 jack. Mic in clip-on square.
Long battery life. Where is car charger?
Other end can hear voice well, good noise reduction. I clip to my collar.
Cord can get tangly, or lose silicone bud - these are a common size, so replacement buds are easy to find. The short-wire set that comes with it is convenient.
Overall good for stereo music and calls. (Only one ear while driving, please!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Just sweet and convenient!, December 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Detachable Headphones - White (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I saw a review at the beginning of the year on Kotaku or Engadget. I had some of those wireless headsets from Logitech, but it had a quite big base to plug into mobile and the wired phone which came with my Nokia N97 is pretty good, but some times incoveniente because I had to hide the wires inside my T-Shirt.
The best thing about this one is that you can plug any other phone you have, and the controls works perfectly! The battery life is also as good as that big wireless adaptors and the charger connector (Thanks Nokia) is a Nokia standard one.
The only thing I don`t like too much is the base... I just could find a discrete place to put that clip, so I just put the whole thing under my T-Shirt, or in my T-Shirt pocket. It works for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unusable - played fast and slow, manual was completely wrong about most actions, April 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Detachable Headphones - White (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I had to return this product. It played very fast or very slow, sounded sickening and out of tune (only happened with this device, not with headphones plugged in directly). Samsung Epic 4G. It did work with the A2DP stuff (phone calls etc) but the playback quality was awful. Also, note that the manual's instructions were about 70% completely incorrect, as in they would say "click this, hold this for 2 seconds" and that didn't work. When it was playing the right speed (rarely), the included headphones are terrible. Using my Sennheisers was much better, still not as good as plugged in directly (muddy/slight hiss).

Kudos to NetJP though, they sent me a manual they wrote themselves that had all the correct/corrected instructions, and they accepted my return and credited back the purchase with no problems. They thought perhaps mine was a bad unit.
