Nokia Compact Desktop Charging Stand for Nokia 8260 Phones

The product listed is NOT a dual charger...I ordered it and it took over a month to actually receive the product and it is a single charger. After more research, I believe that the dual charger is not yet available for the 8260, but that the 8290 dual exists. And keep in mind that this does NOT include the AC cord...you are to use the one that came with the phone or purchase an additional power cord for the charger.

I recently bought a Nokia 8260 and this stand to store the phone while not in use. It makes it very easy to charge the phone: it is easier to drop the phone in the stand when I get home and pick it up when I leave. I use it with the Rapid Charger that came with the phone. Contrary to what some reviewers write, the cable fits very well. However make sure you connect the correct side: the side of the cable that goes in the adapter has a plastic 'bayonet' to prevent it from being disconnected; if you try to make this side fit in the stand it fits poorly indeed.

Other comments were that the charger is not included and that there is no space to charge a second battery. This is true, but clearly indicated in the product information, and I don't understand the low reviews. This is a well-designed accessory that does what it is designed for very well!

I must agree that this charger stand is not the most useful accessory for this phone. I must say however, Nokia does not claim this is a two-slot charger. Also,it is important to note that the plug DOES fit into the stand albeit - snugly. Make sure that the plug going into the stand is the right end - notice that the transformer has a "wing" shaped slot for the larger end of the cord. If you try to put the wrong side - the "wing" shaped end-into the charger it will not fit. This stand is not so useful because the charger plug is so simple to begin with. Save your money and buy a buy a case for this phone instead - it scratches too easily.

I just purchased a 8260 phone from Amazon and bought this as an accessory. It works great. The power cord that came with the phone plugs right into the charger. It looks great on my desk and I would recommend it as a nice base to park your phone when your not using it. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the price is a bit high for what you get.

I too bought this charger and had the same problem of plugging the wrong end into the desk unit, once I swaped ends, its fine. I like being able to stand the phone up at my desk and see the face of it with out having to pick it up to see who is calling. I do wish that it came as all one unit, the power supply along with the desk top portion instead of having to buy them seperatly.

I just received my charging stand today and I can't say enough great things about it! It EASILY fits with the adapter that came pre-packaged with your phone and takes up little space on your desk. All you have to do is drop the phone into the cradle and let it charge! It can't get any easier than that!

This unit does not come with a power cord!! It is just a stand. There is no use for this, other than cosmetic. You have to use your current power source, this does not replace it. Really doesn't make sense on why someone would need this accessory.

Glad I checked these reviews because I couldn't figure out how to fit the AC charger until I read someone's comments that the ends are switchable. Once we got passed that part, this charger is wonderful and so easy to just plop the phone in.

Let me start by saying that the other people that supposely bought the Nokia 8260 phone's and saying that their charger does not fit into the charge are foolish. There is only one way the plug goes in, the other end is different anyway, so it tells you if one side does not fit then try the other side. I bought this charger and it works like a DREAM, PERFECT, No Problems what so ever. Like I said this is a great product. They can do better on the price doe.

I was aware this item did not come with a power cord. But I received one when I purchased my nokia 8260. Problem is, the rapid charger that comes packaged with the phone when you purchase it DOES NOT fit this charger! Luckily, I had a power cord from a previous nokia I've owned and it does happen to fit it. So I guess all is not a total loss. But if I had known this before hand, I would not have purchased it.
