Nokia HDB-4 Boom Headset

This is a good headset for Nokia phones. I have the Nokia 3120 and had a hard time finding a headset with acceptable audio quality. I like the answer/end button, you don't have to search for the phone to answer a call, and it is quite comfortable to wear.

I used to have old Nokia phone and 3.5mm headset which came with it worked ok for me. New one didn't have headset packaged in so I needed to buy one. The price of HDB-4 seemed to be right so I went ahead and purchased one.

First problem I discovered is that this headset doesn't really fit either of my ears. I guess it's designed to be used in any ear and it is flat because of that. This shape doesn't help it fit my ears properly and I get this feeling that it's just hanging next to my ear rather being in it. I've seen people reporting similar problems with stereo Nokia headsets as well.

Also since sound comes from either side of a headset I believe people next to me can hear my conversation (not sure if it is true).

Another painful experience is using HDB-4 with glasses. To put it over the ear properly one should remove glases first. Putting glasses on with a headset is not comfortable at all (So stick with earbud if you wear glasses).
Sound quality is reasonably good. When I'm indoors people can hear me Ok. Outdoors I had people complaining but I'm not sure if headphone were ones to blame.

Easy to use and simple design. Rubberized loop stays put and is comfortable. Very good audio quality on both ends of conversation. No volume control and chord could be just a bit longer, but on/off switch is very convenient. For the cost, great addition to my NOKIA 3587i phone.

Reason for purchase:
1. I had a blue tooth for my phone and it worked well, but that is just another item to keep charged up. Plus, the blue tooth seems to make the phone battery not last as long.

2. Many times when I am on my cell phone I need to be able to use two hands.

How it works:

It is wonderful. I can hear and so far no one has said, "I can't hear you or you sound like you are in a well. So, the sound on both ends of the call is great.

It fits equally well on either side of my head.

It has a button on the headset that allows you to push to answer or end the call.

I ordered it one day and in about two days it was here!!!

My only negative is that I did not buy this sooner.

I have had this headset for a couple of years. The audio quality is consistently excellent. I have worn it with 3 different pairs of glasses; for me, the fit is fine.

Compared to other headsets:
- Compared to three generations of the Nokia Earbud, this one stays in place, doesn't make noise against my clothing, and sounds better.
- Compared to the Jabra Boom headset -- well, I rated that headset 1 star.

The earbud type headsets don't stay in my ear which is why I bought this one.
I've been using it for a couple years now I think, and its an excellent headset.
Sound quality is very good, and I especially like the answer/disconnect button built in to the mic part.

I've used this headset for a while and found it great for my needs. You can use it in either ear and the sound is clear. The cord might be a little longer, but that can be worked around. The only (minor) problem is a need to be careful if you adjust the position while talking, so you don't press the button on the mic and cut off the call.

This ear piece is so much better than others I've used. It rests firmly on my ear, and the microphone is in a perfect place so it doesn't get bumped around. It has a disconnect button, too, which allows me to keep my eyes on the road. Very easy to hear through, too.

This is the best headset I've owned yet, and it was a bargain! I highly recommend the product and the seller.

Uncomfortable with glasses.

But audio quality is perfect.

My 1st one broke the cable internally after I used for some 6 months. The new one is not used much...
