Sadly disappointed,

This review is from: Nokia Mural 6750 Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
I hadn't had a Nokia in years, but I remembered being very happy with my old Nokias so I was thrilled when I saw a Nokia available that met the specs I wanted. My first look at the Nokia 6750 Mural was positive. All the specs matched what I was looking for (3G, nice camera, good sized screen, flip phone, memory slot, standard(-ish) 2.5mm headphone jack). When I tried it in the store I was still impressed. The browser was good, decently rendered even full HTML pages, a nice media player, standard menu set, cellular video feature, etc. Unfortunately with this phone, the more I use it, the more disappointed I've become. The top level features are good, but the lack of attention to user interface details is frustrating and unforgivable. It started with realizing that I couldn't rearrange my own bookmarks for the browser. There is simply no "organize" command like there are for other things. You can (usually) "move" bookmarks to different folders, but not reorganize within a folder. Why not? Why can't I put my most recently used bookmarks up top? Second, I'm not sure what the media player uses to organize songs, but its not alphabetical order nor anything normal. For instance, I have 10 podcasts by the same 'artist' labeled 01 to 10. What order does the phone put them in? 06 to 10 and then 01 to 05. Why? Who knows. And again, I can't rearrange them. The silly UI oversights don't end there. Another annoyance is the fact that I can't go to speakerphone while the phone is ringing after making a call. I have to wait for an answer on the other end and then hit 'speakerphone'. What if I want to use speakerphone while I'm driving for hands-free use, I can't actually switch to it until after the person answers. Not only very inconvenient, but actually illegal in a number of states. I can go on... when you're in the browser, you cannot write a text message without quitting the browser and losing your place. The short cuts you can put on the home menu are highly constrained and don't include useful options, etc, etc. Physically, the design is not much better. The battery door is held in by a sliding clip on the back. But after a handful of uses, it gets loose, has a tendency to slide, and then the battery door falls off. It also often slides open by putting it in or taking it out of your pocket. Drop the phone and its almost certain the batter will end up several feet away. The buttons on the outside are too easily pressed. Several times I've had the MP3 player being playing when taking it in and out of my pocket. The solution is to lock it, but, I just don't always remember to do so. Speaking of the outside buttons, the volume up/down button has no spacing between that and the 'push to talk' button. Its physically connected. So trying to press volume up very often ends up with a push-to-talk dialog coming up. Frustrating and yet another example of a not thinking through the design. Just when I was resigned to putting up with all the shortcomings, the phone stops responding to all button presses. I've only had it a few months. Great job Nokia. I used to think of you as a designer of solid, quality phones, but now I can see why you've fallen as far as you have. Their lack of attention to detail is extremely frustrating and not a company that values their customers. My experiences with their customer support regarding accessories has also been pitiful. It takes 3 calls to figure out which headset works with my phone. I'll get my phone replaced, put up with it until my next upgrade, and then be done with Nokia permanently.

The Nokia Mural is not a smart phone, but it's a pretty good phone. If you want a smart phone, get an iphone. My wife and I were looking to replace our aging Razr's, and we live in an area where AT&T is the only cell phone service available. We didn't feel the need to pay AT&T over $700 a year for phone service plus more than $700 a year for their iphone data plans. With the Nokia Mural, I didn't want to surf the internet on a screen that is 1.3" wide. We've had our Mural phones for 3 months and they have both been good phones. I was looking for a phone that didn't get bad reviews for freezing, software bugs, low volume, etc. I haven't had any problems with my phone freezing. I'm a little hard of hearing, and the volume level of the Mural is good. The speakerphone volume is even louder. The phone is fairly stylish and you can change the colors of the external display. The external display shows the caller ID info and also displays song titles when you're using the media player. My only real complaint about the Mural is that I think the menus are more complicated than they need to be. I bought a Samsung phone for a friend the same time I bought the Murals. I set up the Samsung phone for my friend, and the menus on the Samsung were similar to the Razr menus and easier to use than the more complex Mural menus. All in all I would recommend the Mural to someone looking for a good cell phone.

Nice phone, but don't believe the stats,

I chose this phone because I don't want a smartphone. Most important to me is not having to charge it very often. The lights are cool. The MP3 player performs well, though I seldom use it. The external speaker sounds decent for its size. However, the statistics for battery performance are not real life and I would NOT have got this phone had I known. Nokia says it will last 3 weeks on standby with GSM. I have yet for it to last more than 2 1/2 days. AT&T says the stats are best case 'in a vacuum'. My previous Nokia phone would last 8 days between charges and had high expectation, which were crushed. I am not happy with this phone.

Where do I start?,
By First, I wanted a phone with good battery life and good reception. That was what I asked for. The sales guy recommended this phone. I had to pay 70 dollars extra for it because it wasn't covered in my renewal freebie phone. So, I expected both good battery life and reception. I got neither. after one hour long conversation, my battery life was down to 50%. After another 1/2 conversation, its beeping at me. I have to charge it every day if I use it at all. My last phone, though 3 years old, would last 3 days even with hour long phone calls each day. Second, I get so many dropped calls its frustrating to try to talk to anyone. I also can't hardly hear people. My parents, my sister and a friend all have ATT because its the only one with good service where we grew up. They do not have the problems I do in the same areas I do. The first thing I notices was when I would try to call my sister, it would ring and ring and ring and then I'd leave a message on her voice mail, BUT neither the call nor the voice mail nor the missed phone call message would get through to her phone. Sometimes for hours! Its the same the other way. Poeple, not just my sister and not only ATT customers, will try to call me or text me, and it won't come through to my phone right away. Sometimes it can take 12 hours to show up! It doesn't matter where I am. I've had this problem at home, at my parent's at my father's, all over washignton state. One day, I was supposed to meet my sister for dinner, and I tried to call her six times in two hours! I was sitting in my car waiting for her for two hours! With two text messages, and NONE of them went through to her phone. All I got was voice mail. And she was sitting next to her phone waiting for me to call. I finally walked six blocks to her work to find her in her office. I told her I called, showed her the records on my phone, and she showed me her phone records where it showed she had called me three times and that I had not called her at all. She did have voice mails though, when she checked. None of these people have these problems with other people. Only me. Now, the last draw, the sound has failed on my phone. It will no longer ring. THere are no tones at all for any functions. The only phone call alert I have left is vibration. Now, I keep missing the calls that do come through because it won't ring. I am so disappointed and frustrated with this phone. One final small thing is the nice red exterior got all chipped and cracked within days, and all it does is sit in its own protected pocket on the inside of my purse. I am upset that I was told it has good battery life - it doesn't. And, the reception is terrible. Then, this weird no call through thing. People would say they had called me, but I thought they were lying or what ever because I got no calls and had no record of calls. Now, the sound isn't working. By now, the warranty is up, and my only option is to buy a new phone. This phone wouldn't even be worth it if it were free. And, it's not the net work. Some people have negative things to say about ATT. I've lived in the same place with other phones, with none of these problems. No one else I know with ATT has any problems at my place or in the same locations I have. These problems are not network related. They are the phone.

A piece of junk,
This review is from: Nokia Mural 6750 Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone)
I purchased this as an upgrade thinking it looked pretty nice etc. It did for the first month. Then the back started falling off--not easy to get back on either. Then it started turning itself off all by itself in the middle of a call even when it was fully charged. Finally the back piece fell off altogether (after carefully putting it back on over and over again) and I had to use a piece of duct tape to keep from loosing my battery and sim card while waiting to get a new back which costs $$$$$. Eventuall, the phone cut out alltogether. It would just turn on (that is the screen would turn white) and then nothing. It wouldn't connect. So I lost all the updates, photos, messages on that phone in the less than three months I used it. I ended out buying a gophone so I had something to use while I wait to see if Nokia will live up to its warrantee. Oh, and it doesn't hold a charge for more than one day. I don't recommend this phone at all.

Love the phone,

This is great phone, easy to use and looks good. If your looking for a simple good quality phone this is it. It has several nice features such as a camera and music player but the ease of use is why I like this phone. It reminds me of my old Motorola razr which they do not make anymore. Battery life seems fine also. I have had this for over a year and have no complaints.

terrible phone, I upgraded my old to this new 6750, this phone as stated was good for less than a month, then back cover started to be loose because it was not holding by fastener and i had to use a scotch to tape the cover and it was turning off constantly when I was talking though it had full charge and reception, after few months i could not place calls it was giving me network error though reception was fine and, finally, people were calling me and I was not receiving any calls, all of them were going right into my voice mail and my phone did not show any missed calls, nothing - it looked like no one was calling me... had problem to excahnge it with ATT, ATT did not want to accept that it's the phone's problem... so if you don't want to run into the same problem as I did then don't buy Nokia 6750

This phone looks good and works great when you have any battery power. I charged it completely and it lasted 2 days with little talk. The next charge lasted about as long with no talk. The last time it lasted one day with about 20 minutes talk. Took the phone back.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have no real complaints with this phone. Callers are clear. Volume is good. I prefer a flip phone and this one seems to be well made as far as cell phones go. Takes good pictures. Easy to use. My only complaints are minor ones pertaining to some additional settings that I wish it had. I am happy with this selection.
