5.0 out of 5 stars Nokia n810, February 4, 2009
This review is from: Nokia N810 Internet Tablet (Electronics)
Does everything you would expect, except there is no proper software for viewing and editing Office Docs at the moment. GPS is slow to start up but once its up it's surprisingly functional, but you do have to pay for the turn by turn navigation feature. The hardware is very well made making the device sturdy and easy to work with. The screen is large and has a resolution of 800*480 which makes it good for viewing full size web pages. The keyboard is a good size for the average persons thumbs and is also back lit. Navigation in the OS is straight forward and very customizable. Also the fact that it is open source means there are A LOT of awesome apps available. Battery Life is also very good, about 5-6 hours of continuous use. The screen automatically adjusts to ambient light which helps conserve battery. The 2 speakers are clear and loud. The included headset makes Christal clear calls on Skype. The n810 is first and foremost an internet tablet and browsing the web on this device is as close as you are going to get to using a desktop with a mobile device. With the Mozilla based browser and desktop Flash support I have not found a site that this thing can't handle. The hardware in this device is just amazing, they really thought of everything. The software is just as good and is still being improved, not to mention that you can update the OS when a new version comes out. This is good investment if you want something that will stay current for a long time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fine, but not the best, March 15, 2009

This review is from: Nokia N810 Internet Tablet (Electronics)
I have this N810 since one month ago, It has crashed 10 times since then, It sounds like it have been software problems always. I even had to remove the battery after the freeze twice. In general it's a great product, and I'm sure it will be software more stable for it after a while. The GPS doesn't work fine in Mexico. I can read PDF files on it, synchronize my calendar with ubuntu (manually). And with wireless earphones I can used it to watch videos and listen to music in the GYM. But the great feature is that I can make internet video calls. My husband has also a N800 and after buy mine we are in touch for free in every part of the world by a minimum cost (the 250usd I payed for it, less than a cell phone).
