5.0 out of 5 stars This cable works
After two no-brand aftermarket cables which were invisible to the phone and Nokia Phone Suite, this cable and the included software driver worked perfectly. (Note: Nokia Phone Suite must be separately downloaded, but is free of charge.)

i tried many times to get this item to work with my camera. However, it never worked. I contacted you and you emailed me back stating that I would hear from the company that sold it to me. I NEVER heard from them. I am very disappointed. I am trying to give the benefit of the doubt to the company in that it is possible they were closed until today due to the holidays...

Nokia has gone to pains to ensure that you buy an expensive cable. I recommend pricing accessories before selecting your next phone. Some Motorola phones accept a universal mini-USB cable which I believe is cheaper.

5.0 out of 5 stars great way to synch outlook data to a Nokia phone, October 10, 2008

My Nokia 6200 can be synched via infrared or a cable. On my old XP laptop, I had an irda port, so I didn't need a cable. The new Vista laptop doesn't had irda, so I needed this cable. It works very well - the Nokia PC Suite version 7.0 supports the cable, and runs under Vista.

If your computer and phone both have infrared, or bluetooth, you don't need this cable, but if they don't, I can recommend this cable. The fact that it is genuine nokia, and supported by nokia, are a plus. I tried a "compatible" non-nokia cable, and it was awful!

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to work, so far, February 8, 2008

Seems to work. I use windows explorer to copy photos off the phone. Not sure what the Nokia software is for. Spotty problems trying to connect to the device, but I assume that something is loose somewhere. The first time it took me a while to figure out which side was up, and the phone may still be mad at me.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal, October 1, 2007
The sparse description and low price made me wonder if this was a true Nokia product or a knock-off. Verdict: It's the real deal. It's a genuine Nokia CA-42 cable, complete with manual and installation CD. The CD even comes with a big library of audio and image files for your phone. Synchronization between my Nokia 3120b and Outlook is not perfect, but it works well as long as I limit my information to that which my phone can handle. The synchronization processes fails with communication errors when it encounters Outlook information it doesn't recognize, such as birthdays and notes in my contacts or repeating appointments in my calendar. Repeated attempts eventually succeed without failures. Advice: Limit your information to what the phone can handle and the errors will go away. Also, the PC responds slowly when connecting the phone to the cable. Patience is key. Occasionally, a repeat attempt or switching your phone off and on is necessary.
