This review is from: Au Nom D'une Femme (Audio CD)
Just love this Cd even more then her first!1-Il Y'a trop de gens qui t'aiment (too much people love you) 2-Mrs Jones, My favorite on the album!!!!!! a song about a women that goes see her ex step mother and ask news about her news about her ex bfriend and wants her to give a goodbye letter to him. 5/5 4-Elle, tu l'aimes (You love her) What an amazing song!!! Music is really really really good!! Lyrics are superb her voice too! 6-Sempre, Sempre, Love this song!!! especially music, I think on this song her voice and music make a perfect match!5/5 7-Tu vas me quitter (You'll leave me) What a song... when i've got my last relation... i couldn't stop to listen at this song.. it's pretty sad.. but it's so strong... i'm crying each time... this song is a masterpiece!!!! 5/5 8-Au nom d'une femme (in the name of a women) Pretty good song.. not her best but not bad at all!!! 4/5 9-Tu peux tout emporter (you can bring it all) I love this one.. when I first heard this cd i was listening this song on repeat!! 5/5 10-Je te perdrai (I'll loose you) Another sad love song... not bad at all neither... love to listening to it!!! Lyrics are very powerful. 4/5 11-Dites Moi qui je suis (tell me who I am) To be honest.. i don't especially love this song... the beat is pretty repeatitive lyrics not really touch me.. Actually i'm always skipping this song while i'm listening to the cd... it could be great.. that's life... 2/5 12-Rebelles (rebels) I love her voice on this song.. the beat (a little bite middle eastern at some place) Even though lyrics are not strong enough but a pretty good song.. 4/5 7-

Reputations Stick for the Worst! Beautifully Enchanting!,
This review is from: Au Nom D'une Femme (Audio CD)
I'm not quite sure when it started but it does seem logical to me that Helene Segara would be compared with Celine Dion (Dion from Canada, Segara from France). That is to say they're both French female singers that sing with somewhat gentle music playing in the background. The problem is that's where all the similarities end.
The argument that Helene Segara is for France as Celine Dion is for Canada is also absurd in that Helene Segara is significantly more popular even now in France than Celene Dion is in Canada or the United Stated. In Paris if you turn on the radio to a rock channel, chances are you'll hear Segara. The same can't be said for Dion, sure she used to be popular but most would regard her as yesterday's news in Quebec, Canada, and the U.S. Helene Segara is a completely different singer from Celine Dion and shouldn't be regularly compared to Dion either. Those that know Segara's works know full well that they sound drastically different as well which makes comparing them non-stop (as some people feel wont to do on Amazon) kind of ridiculous. That being said I've never much cared for Celine Dion or any other type of English or French artist that fell into that genre. Helene Segara is different. The music in the background isn't the standard piano playing non-sense found all too often on solo-Female singer's soft rock tracks. Instead, namely on this CD, we receive a beautiful blend of what feels like North African-like sounds with other beautiful instrumentals (LL Attend la Pluie, Elle, Tu l'Aimes, and Je Te Perdrai I believe come to mind). The music is by far on the same level as the singer: an added bonus when considering that similar tracks by similar artists have monotonous piano playing that can get overly repetitive (Helene Segara does not sound like she's in an "empty studio" when she sings, her tracks are full of life). I won't bother giving a track listing. I consider this CD one of my favorite CDs of all time (and believe me, I listen to plenty music from all different types of genres). The songs are so enchantingly beautiful that you'll want to play the CD everyday on your drive to work or school. I have and so have many others. That said this is also one of Segara's bests, the mostly all French tracks are a delight to listen to. It is this reviewer's hope that reviewers in the future will cease to compare Celine Dion to Helene Segara. Dion fans should note that while I don't think highly of Dion her music - being different from Segara's music - is distinct in its own right. If you're looking for a Female French singer with a beautiful voice look no further than this CD!

Voice to die for ?,
By LUUKKONEN TOMI (Turku, Finland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Au Nom D'une Femme (Audio CD)
Je m'appelle Tomi. That's all I can say in french. But I couldn't care less after Hélène Ségara. These should be love songs, but I don't care. Because all that I can hear is that voice. Voice with that something - some will find it immediately, others don't hear anything special. Voice, somewhere between glass and swiss chocolad. Both qualities included. Unbelievable voice with clarity & softness to die for. Concentrate on voice, preferably with very good speakers/headphones. After a while, music fades away - but voice stays. I would recommend "Coeur de verre" too, it has more variation...Found out why I actually like her voice so much; she's not trying to duplicate anyone...

Somewhat disappointed,

If you don't like Celine Dion, you probably won't like this. I really liked Helene Segara in Notre Dame de Paris, but this album is just so-so in my opinion.

I fell onto this CD when I was looking for the French version of Notre Dame de Paris. The reviews were good so I decided to buy it along with the Notre Dame CD. I LOVE her music. This women would be a HUGE hit in the U.S. If her music were in English. If you like Celine Dion or Gloria Estefan you will go crazy for Helene Segara! My husband has several books for sale on ...(the website) and he checks the reviews all the time. So, Helene, I know your out there some where reading this and I just want to say -- YOU GO GIRL!!

Elle tu l'aimes,
By A Customer
This review is from: Au Nom D'une Femme (Audio CD)
Ok, I really don't know about the rest of the CD cause I only have the "elle tu l'aimes" single, but "Elle tu L'aimes is definitely one of the best songs I've heard. Rebelles is also good. I recently vacationed in Belgium, and couldn't stop hearing Elle tu l'aimes on the radio. By the way, I know absolutely no French, so I am just judging on the music and Helene Segara's fabulous voice!

I love it!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Au Nom D'une Femme (Audio CD)
First off, the only French words I speak are "Bonjour", "merci", and "Palex vous anglais?" In other words, I understand very little of this CD. I LOVE IT! It is fantastic music sung by the incredible voice of Helene Segara. I came to know about Helene Segara after borrowing the Notre Dame de Paris Live Album from a library in Belgium for practically the entire summer. I especially love the variation of songs, from the pop "Parlez-moi de nous" to oriental "Elle tu l'aimes". Buy it and you will not regret it!

I heard of Hélène Ségara when a classmate in my french IV class brought this cd in. I haven't heard the entire album yet, but I'm sure it's really good. I'd buy it the moment I get the chance to.
