Wash your car in direct sunlight, June 3, 2009
In Southern California, our water is so hard we don't drink it -- we chew it. Drove me nuts to wash my car only to see it covered in stubborn water spots. So, I convinced my wife to let me get this for Father's day (a few weeks in advance). She's now off the hook for any gifts on the big day.
Now, I can fill my new Nomad with distilled water (.68/gallon @ walmart) for the pre and post rinse and can dry my car at a leisurely pace, even in direct sunlight.
The tank holds 3.5 gallons, more than enough to wash and rinse one car. I find the pressure (90 psi) to be "just right" for this task -- enough to blast off the soap and contaminants, but not enough to damage the paint.
Yesterday, I used the Nomad to wash my dog in the back yard. The pressure on fine mist was perfect for saturating her coat without hurting her. Also should be good for taking to the beach to rinse off sand and salt before the ride home.
The supplied power cable only plugs into a 12-volt cigarette lighter socket. That means that you will need to get an adapter if you want to plug it into an AC socket. Be sure to get a 6-amp 12-volt converter, as the cheaper 1-amp/1000ma converters do not provide enough power to run this unit.

Good washer, October 13, 2009
This is a nice device, no where near the power of a 110V pressure washer but still does a nice job with simple washing on the camp site or anywhere else you do not have access to a hose or water spigot but can use your car's 12v plug in. One thing, DO NOT buy the AC/DC adapter Amazon recommends with the washer. It appears that Amazon did not bother to do their homework and make sure they are compatible because they are not. The adapter Amazon recommends is on a 1 amp adapter which is not enough amps to power the washer. I had to go buy another adapter which was a 5 amp adapter which works fine - thanks Amazon, I really appreciate that!!!

This is so cool!, August 12, 2009
I purchased this for giving my dog a quick spray after swimming in dirty ponds before getting back in the car. I quickly realized it was just as good for wetting him down before agility training on hot days. (Just be sure to scrape off most of the water so it doesn't wind up becoming an insulator and heating the dog intead of cooling. Also be sure the dog wet dog has a cooling fan. The trick to using water is to provide for evaporation, which doesn't happen on hot muggy days.)
It is big (holds 3.5 gallons of water), but it is also fairly narrow, so it fits well in the car. It runs off a 12 v. accessory outlet, but also runs just as well off a portable jump start battery. Nice long hose with quick connect couplings and nice heavy nozzle. Adjusted to a fine spray, it creates a forceful, yet gentle spray. Convenient mesh pockets so you can keep the hose and power cords conveniently stored. A little water goes a long way, so it's not necessary to fill to capacity for a quick rinse. Very pleased. Ordered on Thursday and Orangeonions delivered by Fedex on Saturday for standard shipping cost. A great purchase.
