This review is from: Nomads of the Borneo Rainforest: The Economics, Politics, and Ideology of Settling Down (Hardcover)
This ethnography was excrutiating to read. The information in this book is extremely contraditing in certain aspects of the cultural practices of each of the different groups of nomads/settled agriculturists. In the last half of the text each group melts into one and each chapter is just a repeat of the chapter before it with a name change here or there. I learned more from 30 minutes of the documentary "Dream Wanderers of Borneo" than I did from this text.
