This review is from: UK Nomi-mobile Prepaid SIM Card+£10 credit kit (plus £2 if you register on Nomi's website) (Electronics)
I bought one from the Nomi mobile authorized seller in USA and it arrived 3 days after I had placed the order. The sim card came with 10 GBP, a booklet of instruction, and a phone number. I was able to tell all my friends and family mu UK phone number before I left for UK.
I arrived in UK and I put the sim card into my unlcoked phone, and it worked right away at the airport. No problem using it anywhere in London for the whole week I was there. I was able to call my friends in USA, and receive phone calls from them (NO cost to receive phone calls!).
While I was walking along the London streets, I saw someone handing out other sim cards, like Tmobile, Vodaphone for free after refilling it with at least 5 GBP, but these sim cards' calling rate to USA is just too high, about 5 times or more than Nomi's. No wonder they gave out the sim for free. Nomi's rates are great calling USA as well as local calls.
I then registered on Nomi's website, and received the 2£ bonus. I was surprised to know that I was able to view the call details on the web.
After using the Nomi mobile sim card, I would never bring my USA cell phone to roam there - ATT charges about US$2.50 to call back USA.
I did not try to do refill on Nomi's web. I know the USA dealer of Nomi mobile accepts USA credit card and sells Nomi's refill voucher at a very reasonable exchange rate.
I will keep my nomi sim (and UK number) for my next trip to UK. Its number does not expire 180 days after the last activity of the account, which can be accessed using Skpe and its home talking function from the US. It makes keeping the phone number easily.
I can only say, I am glad to find this product. Thanks Nomi!
Pro: Inexpensive way to make calls in UK
Con: I agree with the previous reviewer. It does not offer non-UK credit card automatic top ups.

So far, so bad, September 3, 2009

I purchased the NOMI mobile SIM card and struggled through getting AT&T to help me unlock my cell phone. Then I logged on to the NOMI web site to try to add some money to the SIM card (using a valid credit card) before I go to the UK. However, they apparently don't allow US residents to use the Internet to top up a card- I got an 'invalid card' message. Some time later I got an email saying that 'a random security check' had prevented the top-up. No response when I replied to that email, and no help when I called their customer support.
