Pino Daniele is an artist of his own kind. I was living in Italy at the time when this album came out, and it was very popular there. It has a commercial touch to it, but the songs are memorable, especially if you know Italian/Napoletano. I recommend this album to anyone who likes pop music, even if you dont know the words. "Io Per Lei" has a sparkle to it, it has the beautiful voice of Irene Grandi, an italian diva (vey sexy!!!). Bravo to Pino Daniele, and hopefully his new album Medina was just a mistake, and he will make more albums like Non Calpestare... and his masterpiece "Che Dio Ti Benedica".

In a crowded bar overlooking the sea, the local Italian college crowd was enjoying their weekend. A man played guitar and people had their conversations at their tables. When the man with the guitar started playing "Resta Cu' mme" (track seven of this great cd), the entire crowd stopped their conversations and sang along to the beautiful song that asks a girl simply and lovingly to "stay here with me".
