5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Moves, May 25, 2001

This review is from: Non-Impact Aerobics: The Nia Technique (Paperback)
When I first heard of The Nia Technique, I knew in my gut that this was the right movement for me. I ordered this book in 1992 when I still lived in Atlanta and there were no Nia teachers there yet. I've continued to read and use it over the years, and each time I learn something new. Then I ordered the tapes, and I was hooked. This is powerful, grounded movement, done in bare feet, that makes you feel like a dancer and a black belt karate star at the same time! The people, Carlos and Debbie Rosas, are true movement visionaries. They walk their talk, and make the moves so simple to learn. While the learning is easy, it also takes a lifetime to incorporate all the dynamics like chi, sinking, rising, instrinsic, extrinsic. Taking a Nia class is a great way to augment your study of the book, too. The pictures are beautiful and the exercises are easy to understand. Highly recommended. This books needs to be republished! Thanks, Kali Rose.
