This review is from: Io Non Ho Paura (Stile Libero) (Italian Edition) (Paperback)
This story begins as though it was written for junior readers, but stay the course. What a great, complex tale. The children are depicted so well I felt I knew them all. The feeling for the settings was clearly heart-felt and what a great ending. The writer has written a book for all ages, and it can be purchased in English and read side by side if you should struggle with the Italian, but the Italian writing is not so advanced as to be overh-whelming. I'm now looking for the film that was made from this jewel of a book.

It is a really good book..especially for those of you who just became enrolled in Advanced Italian classes. It is really easy to read and it is a good story. Great writer

This book, written in Italian, is filled with beautiful visualizations of summer in southern Italy during the 1970's. Through the eyes of the child protagonist, Michele, this story documents his discovery of a kidnapped child, originally from a rich family. Who had taken the child? Why is he so important? And at what cost does Michele befriend him?

I really enjoyed the book. I'm in medium level of italian language learning and I was happy that I could go through without any problem.

the novel itself is fine, thus far:) However I found the binding of the book and the book itself to be of very poor quality. The first time I opened the book and folded the pages back about 20 pages came unglued and fell right out of the book. Also the back cover ripped from the bottom almost all the way to the top under very little stress. I have never had a book so fragile, treat it like fine china and you should be okay.

This story is amazing and I highly recommend both the book and the film that was based off of it. If you're daring enough, I'd would try the Italian version as opposed to an English version. It could be me, but most things are always better in the language they were meant to be in.

I made photocopies of about ten pages of this book to give to a couple of my students who hadn't yet received their books in the mail and all those pages fell out. A few days later, the next few pages started falling out and I didn't even photocopy those. Now, I am extremely careful when reading the book and I open it to only about three quarters of the way I would normally open any other book. Very disappointing and somewhat embarrassing since this is the book I recommended to my students.
