5.0 out of 5 stars if you are into disco you will like this one
These crazy folks from Canada capture the essence of disco better than anyone else has this decade. House of the Rising Sun and Don't let me be misunderstood are discofied conversions of 60's songs by The Animals. Most of the singing is at least as good as the original artists, some is better. Almost all the music is pumped up for maximum discofication! Most...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Sung by Original Artists!
I would only buy this cd if you want to laugh for a few hours. I was expecting original hits, but I guess I should have known better for $12. At first listen I thought it was the real thing, but then I realized it was people trying to sound like the original artists. Some are so bad you have to laugh. The rest of it is just a disappointment. I think I'll re-wrap it...

1.0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE, October 25, 1998

I would say 1 half a star but 1 star was the least. All these hits are other people trying to sing really good songs but they can't. Do not buy this crap.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not What It Appears, July 24, 2001

On the surface, this appears to be a great disco mix. What they don't tell you is that these are all covers. Not one original recording in the batch, and the singers are not very good. There is a sort of stumbling effect when one song segues into another so the songs are not really non-stop. If I played this at a party, I would be tarred & feathered by my friends. All in all, they should have paid me to listen to this garbage.

1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe the Best Disco Collection Ever - NOT!, October 28, 2010
This review is from: Non Stop Disco Dance Mix (Audio CD)
Wow, the "Countdown Mix Masters" have really outdone themselves this time. Just wondering what they are counting down to though - hopefully they're counting the days until the end of their recording career. If you're looking for a lot of music (45 songs and nearly 3 hours) for background at a 70's party or reunion then maybe this would suit your needs - but only if your guests aren't expecting to hear original hits by their original artists. It is doubtful that any of these "mix masters' could ever have a music career if it they weren't recording low priced poor quality cover versions of other people's hits. Again, if you just want back ground noise then for a couple of bucks this 3 CD set offers a lot - however, if you are expecting to actually listen to and enjoy the music you'd be much better off picking up a couple of the many "original hits by original artists" collections elsewhere on Amazon - you might spend a bit more but you'll certainly get better value for you money than whatever you pay for this collection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning: May permanently damage your music appreciation, June 26, 2008

We got suckered: these are not the original artists but horrible covers - they must have chosen the singers to try and match the original singer's vocal tone and without much regard to actual singing skills. Besides, even if this set had great singers I would still want the real thing not cover bands!!!! This set is so bad that I don't feel right trying to sell or even give it away; maybe to someone I don't like much or as a gag gift.
