5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, even if it is over 20 years old, August 6, 2007
By Lovin' The Truth (Deep in the South, US of A) - See all my reviews
I gave it 5 stars to counteract the low review. Keep in mind this edition was printed in 1985! Even so, I still thought it had some useful info. If you're trying to find out if someone has a diploma from a diploma mill, this isn't a bad book to own, just for that. It lists a lot of mills that have been forgotten about. The 9th edition lists slightly different information about schools than the the 8th edition. I think in some ways the eighth was better.

Many people who own diploma mills hate the author, because he exposes them for frauds. In the eighth edition, he had a rating system of schools with a "happy face" that went from a smiley to a "yuck face", depending on how he liked the school. He dropped the rating system with this edition, and the ratings overall seem less critical. He also dropped the addresses of diploma mills, which he said were not needed.

There are a handful of schools still around mentioned in the book, and with the internet you could check them out. Since it's currently selling for 38 cents, just go ahead and get a copy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Caveat Emptor, May 20, 2003
By A Customer
The author of this book is a SELF-PROCLAIMED expert. Much of what he says is utter nonsense and on further research I discovered that the schools being promoted are the schools he himself owns. Caveat Emptor

BEWARE!
