5.0 out of 5 stars Tour of the Ages, October 6, 2003

I saw this tour in Chicago, Illinois at the House of Blues and it was just as crushing and amazing there as it is on this disc recorded live in Montreal. Cryptopsy is simply a phenomenal, devastating experience live, and this album truly shows that. This is perhaps the definitive live album for hyper-technical death metal, except maybe until Origin releases something trying to rival 'None So Live.'

Not only do you get to hear Cryptopsy, but they play all of the best songs from each album and Martin Lacroix certainly displays a vicious vocal sound. He's the perfect blend of Lord Worm's unintelligible, inhuman howls and DiSalvo's brutal vocal precision. Lacroix's immitation of Lord Worm on the parts that really need it shines, and he's at least as good if not better than DiSalvo on tracks like 'Cold Hate, Warm Blood.'

If you're a fan of Cryptopsy and want the true live experience without having to be there, you need this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Speed Death, November 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: None So Live (Audio CD)
Normally I'm not a big fan of Live albums, I just don't like their sound compared to studio recorded ones. However, this is a big exception. If you're even a slight fan of death metal, you will love Cryptopsy. Their live performance is incredible. When I heard the original "Slit your Guts" I couldn't believe the guitar and double bass drum parts. On "None so Live", they play it even faster! Crytopsy's speed and syncronization is absolutely insane. Even if you already have these songs on the original cd's, buy this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Live Recording, June 6, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: None So Live (Audio CD)
I was fortunate enough to see Cryptopsy on this tour in Atlanta. I definitely think Martin is the future of Cryptopsy. I was never really impressed with Lord Worm, and felt DiSalvo had a very powerful voice, but not quite that Death Metal feel. LaCroix definitely bridges that gap! Recording the album in their hometown was very wise as you can tell the crowd was there to see them and not Krisiun. This is a superior live album! If you're a Cryptopsy fan, you probably already have it. If not, this is a good place to start to see which other albums you need to purchase!...

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best Live Albums Ever, December 9, 2005
This review is from: None So Live (Audio CD)
For any fan of live music this recording is a dream, the only other sound quality ive that rivals this is heard from Children of Bodom's "Tokyo Warhearts". The setlist is pure genious spanning the bands entire carreer through .....And Then You'll Beg. Both guitarists do a fine job of recreating the studio songs and solos, Martin Lacroix is the perfect mix between Mike DiSalvo and Lord Worm (even though worm is better), Flo Mounier is inhuman as usual, and Eric Langlois slaps at REALLY high speeds.
+ Excellent setlist
+Great Sound Quality
+Great Musicianship
-No matter how much Lacroix sounds like him, He is simply not Lord Worm
?Now that Worm is back will we get a DVD?

P.S. Once Was Not is incredible as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cryptopsy Live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, March 6, 2005

Now I know what some of you are thinking. "It's a live album, live albums are poorly recorded" Well put your worries to rest because this one is recorded quite nicely and you get to hear the insanity of this band live! They play even better and faster live as well. The musicianship is tight and flawless. The vocals are great and the playlist is of an excellent selection of the part of the band. This is technical and complex musicianship at perfection. The drummer alone blows away Slipknots 3 drummers. The guitars are skull splittingand are played at a lightning fast pace, which is quite impressive do to the complexity of the guitar parts. These are very accomplished musicians and since there is so many good things about this band, I can't recommend them enough, also considering they're one of my favorite bands ever, and to all those die hard Cryptopsy fans, you better already own this, but for those new to them who have put off buying this album due to it being a live album, well you're a fool! Redeem yourself and pick up a copy. This album deserves the 5 stars it gets. A must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfecting Perfection, May 6, 2003

If someone told me that the new singer of cryptopsy would overpower DiSalvo i would tell them they were ignorant. But after 1 listen to this i feel that Lacroix will bring Cryptopsy to greater heights. Lacroix (while almost as good) could never outwit or overpower LORD WORM, BUT, Martin Lacroix seems to have the sound of WORM with the clearness of DiSalvo. THats the best i can describe although he has his own sound....ya. This album comes close to perfecting songs done by past singers to greater heights, and it isnt a bad thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not much to say but....., June 1, 2004

....I swear, the production on this cd sounds like it's a studio album! It's so clear and the fact that the musicianship is so flawless, it makes it more believable. So now you all know how good the production is, the main problem with live albums. The band, as I said play flawlessly and Flow Mournier unleashes one of the greatest drum solos ever to boot.
Martin Lacroix, the 'new'(a few years back) vocalist is pretty good, he can perform well live and yes, he does sound like a mixture of DiSalvo and Lord Worm, which is easy to believe because that would be a good reason for the band to choose him! The song selection is great except I hate it how they put the drum solo in the middle of Graves of the Fathers, one of my favourite Cryptopsy songs!

Great buy, non-essential, but easily worth the money. Not just for collectors. 9.5/10, would've been 10 if they had've done Graves....right!
