4.0 out of 5 stars Pocket Guide, August 9, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Trees and Nonflowering Plants (Reader's Digest North American Wildlife) (Paperback)
Good for quick identification of various woodland trees, plants and mushrooms. Descriptions are short and undetailed and maps are innacurate.
Ok for use as a pocket guide on a hike but can be a little frustrating as it is fairly general and many trees & plants are not shown.

4.0 out of 5 stars Portable book on trees ferns and mushrooms, December 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Trees and Nonflowering Plants (Reader's Digest North American Wildlife) (Paperback)
All the text and pictures are taken out of a Readers Digest nature field guide still in print [North American Wildlife (revised and updated)]. The main advantage is taking it to the field. If it just trees you want, it is not really the best. Tree identification works best using simple keys.

Club mosses and primitive plants are covered.
