I would say this is the thin noodle version of the normal shin ramen, and now that they have switched over to the paper-cups instead of the cancer-ridden, rat-poison laced styrofoam packages, I totally support it for my quick ramen fixes!

I absolutely love the 2.64 oz version of Shin, my favorite junk food fix. For those that think it's the same as the big bags, it's not. There are large dried mushroom flakes in here and the dried green onions are also larger and fresher looking than the ones in the large bags. The noodles are slightly thinner and potentially less soggier. I also like the size much better. 4.2 is way too large for ramen and it's a 1.5 servings. I eat the cheaper 3oz bags sometimes because of the inconvenient 4.2 size. I sometimes don't bother making the large shin if I'm alone because I don't want to waste the rest of it especial if I put eggs and veggies in there, so I'll make it if someone else is eating it with me as I can make 2 bags for 3 people or if it's with someone that can eat 1.5 bags. Since this is junk food, I don't think it makes sense to do the economic math anyway, but it's not even that much more expensive than the large bags. Even if the large ones are 4.2oz and cost just $0.20 more per bag, if I have to waste the rest of it I'm not saving money but rather wasting it. Plus it's not like rice where you can save it and reheat it, so I always flush it down the toilet if I can't finish it, so I'm not just wasting the noodles but also the eggs and veggies and sausages. I wish they have more small-sized tasty ramen options. This is why Americans are fat.

I love these. They have great flavor and are just hot enough to leave you lips with a bit of a tingle. The noodles are good quality with a great texture. I fully recommend these noodles.

I'm not a big review writer at all, but I was compelled to critique this product. We all have days where we just want something quick that is at least edible. I've tried a few noodle cups along the way and quite frankly, this one is by far the best yet.

Great flavor! Very quick and easy to prepare (of course). Good-quality noodles. It has some mushrooms and peppers that plump up nicely upon cooking. Really, nothing at all not to like.

Some notes:

- Directions basically say to add 'hot' water and wait 3 minutes. I find that I get optimum results by adding tap water, microwaving for 2-2.5 minutes, then let sit for another 4-6 minutes.

- This is obviously a dehydrated product, so it is critical to let it sit a few minutes after cooking.

- Serving suggestions - if I happen to have a bell pepper, or leftover chicken (or even something like frozen Tyson® 'grilled' chicken strips) on hand, I'll add a little bit after microwaving and before sitting (note that this is completely optional because it is a great product as is). Like I mentioned above, it comes with a little heat as is, but I always like to add a little dab of Sriracha in mine.

- It does list HFCS as an ingredient and notes that the same facility processes products containing peanuts, crustaceans, and milk, if that might be a factor for to people with severe food allergy concerns.

Big fan of Nonshim noodles. This cup contains about half as much noodles as the regular packets. This is great for a snack. I fill it up to the suggested line and use only half of the provided powder packet to decrease the sodium intake.

I love these noodle cups. They're quite spicy, but finishing it feels like you've accomplished something- like beating a boss in a video game. The sodium is pretty off-the-charts, but that's to be expected.

Tasty soup, great for a quick snack. It is spicy; OK for my palate, maybe not all. I use my Keurig to heat the water. The big cup of coffee is just the right amount of water.

I have been a fan of Nong shim instant noodles but they've really outdone themselves with this one. This cup noodle tastes better than the shin big bowl (the flavor is different), and tastes different from the bagged shin ramyun. But, it just tastes delicious. The mushroom flavor is noticeable and adds depth to the already complex flavor of the spices. WOW!

I gave a couple to starving coworkers and they have been scouring the town for this ever since (the supermarkets here only have the nongshim bowl noodles) which they already like. I told them to get it from amazon but they are internet-shy. Their loss!

This is by far the most delicious cup noodle ever. Ever!
