This review is from: Nonviolence to Animals, Earth, and Self in Asian Traditions (SUNY Series in Religious Studies) (Suny Series, Religious Studies) (Paperback)
History of attitudes toward nonviolence in Asia explained, with Jainist approach as origin. Strong in historical, philosophical detail yet not too academic. Good comparison of Jainist, Buddhist and Hindu approaches. Not too preachy on vegetarianism. Recommended as good background info on this subject.
