The object of this game is to touch the various types of wood in the stack of blocks so that they disappear. The stone that they are sitting on is surrounded by lava and you do not want any of the gold to fall into the lava and lose it, you will anger the gods. The wooden blocks and gold are different shapes so you must carefully select the right blocks to try to achieve a balance. Some of the gold is even in the shape of a ball and can roll. You have to eliminate all the wood from the pile. When you finish the first level you need at least 35 stars to unlock the next level to advance. Thus you get the temptation to pay for the unlock function at $1.99 to continue playing.

You can leave the ice blocks for support and win the level. I am several packs into the game and as of yet I have not had to purchase the update to advance.

What I like:

The game is fun and challenging and it makes you think about how to win the level. I like the different types of materials used that have different properties like ice, wood, rotten wood, bombs and gold and the different shapes keep the game challenging. Every level is slightly different.

What I don't like:

Asking to pay to unlock the game levels makes me suspicious that at some point the game will get so hard that you cannot advance and want to pay to see and play the remainder of the levels. If a game is purchased or a FAOTD then I don't believe that it should have purchased unlocks within the game. I will continue to play all the levels to see if the game is beatable without the purchase.

In addition the WIFI link to More Games makes it tempting to children to buy other items. I suggest strongly that you turn off your WIFI to avoid any purchases you don't want.

The in app permission of network access is used for only trying to sell you games and the additional unlock feature for all of the levels. If those items were left out of the app it would have been smaller in size, required no permissions and you wouldn't have to lock your WIFI for a child to play the game.

Summary:

This is a 4.5 or 5 star game. It plays well on my Kindle Fire and the concept and functionality are interesting and challenging. I cannot give it 5 stars with all the access links to the web in the game and the purchase of the ability to unlock the levels. I rate it four stars as a fun game to play. There is one obvious fake review this morning that rates all 15 of the developer's apps as 5 stars.

Home screen:
* Play - Shows you the levels plus a link to unlock the game levels for $1.99 cents. This unlock transfers to all of your compatible devices and includes all future updated app software. Turn off your WIFI or in app purchases to avoid your children buying this update.
* More games - takes you to a list of 16 games and links to 3 sites to purchase them at. Make sure to turn off your WIFI so your children will not buy unexpected presents for themselves.
* Options - Sound, music, reset, credits

The size is 13.6 MB compressed but it uncompressed to 24.44 MB.

Permissions:
* Network communication - full internet access
* Network communication view network state

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it! September 20, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
When I saw the 6 five star reviews, I was apprehensive because most of the time they (reviews) are from employees and/or family members. I love the soundtrack, although it might get old after awhile, but the graphics are good and the physics seems to good as well.

I can't give it five stars though, the iap while commonplace, should not be in a free app of the day that features paid apps.

One last thing, I do wish Amazon appstore change reviews to where you actually have to download an app BEFORE submitting a review. It's ridiculous that people can leave negative reviews about an app without even taking the time to download it. Just my opinion of course.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's time for an honest review September 20, 2012

So let's start with the actual game. This is a typical game of break the blocks while keeping specific items from touching the ground. While most of these type of games have one item to save, this has multiple items & scores you based on how many you lose. You can lose up to two of the gold blocks & still complete the level. If you enjoy the genre, you will enjoy this.

Re: game play. Puzzles can be a bit challenging, which I enjoy. (No sense playing a puzzle game if it's easy IMO)

Re: permissions. The only permission I see required by this is Internet access. Makes sense for an app that allows in-app-purchases.

Re: IAP. Yes, this game does have in-app-purchases. No, they are not required. IAP here seems to be for those people that are too impatient to work their way through the levels. (To be honest: I have not completed the first set of puzzles yet, so I could find out differently later on.) Personally, I find any game that requires unlocking each level to be a annoying (minus one star for that) as I sometimes like to skip ahead to the harder levels, but I never bother with IAP to unlock them.

Truth be told, I don't even remember playing this game. I remember having the game, opening the game, and deleting the game. The moments in between were that notable.
