5.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Fire works great November 5, 2012

The game is fun if you like fast paced (for touch controls anyway) platforming and trying to navigate levels as quickly and efficiently as possible to get three stars similar to super meat boy. The graphics are a nice throwback to the old days and the controls are tight on my kindle fire. This is definitely one to check out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Retro Action-Platform Goodness November 5, 2012
Verified Purchase
First of all, let me say that the gaming world would consider me a "core gamer"; I've been playing video games for over 25 years, and have had basically every home console released state-side since the mid-80's. I play between 10-20 hours of video games a week, if not more when I'm really into something. When touch-screen games started to rear their ugly head I was disgusted, as no amount of smashing my thumb against a glass surface would ever give me the tactile satisfaction and fine-level of control that an array of buttons and a joystick could. Several of my favorite games have even been adapted to the touch-screen medium, most notably Mega Man X, but with such terrible results -- the touch-screen controls do the original game a great disservice -- that I'm going to try and forget that they ever existed.

For the most part, I really dislike touch-screen games; I find them to be an unfortunate step backwards in the often ultra-responsive controls which gaming has evolved over the last few decades, and as a "core" gamer, control response is crucial to any gaming experience.

This brings me to League of Evil, which I downloaded because I'm always trying to expand my horizons by giving things (touch-screen games) another chance, because I love action/platform games, and ... because it was free, of course! Anyway, I am really impressed with League of Evil. This game just might have the tightest, most responsive controls of any touch-screen action game currently on the market, and to beat the time goals on these levels you really need responsive controls. Someone mentioned that this is like Super Meat Boy, and I definitely get that vibe from this game; it's a challenging action-platform game which demands quick reflexes and thinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun retro game December 11, 2012
Verified Purchase
See the detail of the icon of this game? Yeah, that's about the resolution of the game. And, you know what, that is fine. The controls are easy to learn and responsive and the gameplay is pretty smooth... probably because it doesn't need to spend a lot of processing on rendering the game. I played for over an hour and my phone didn't even heat up noticeably like it will during other games.

It is a puzzle solving game where you run a guy around, pick up some stuff, and then kick the crap out of the bad guy. If you die, it creates a shadow of what you've done before which is 1) neat and 2) distracting. But you soon learn to turn a blind eye to it. But everything worked without a problem and I found myself enjoying the game immensely. Well worth a buck!

This was a great retroe style graphic platform game. Almost like Mario but better. I did enjoy the graphics and the game play. The controls were a bit of a challenge, but doable. Fun game, easy to play, lots of challenge, hard to put down.

3.0 out of 5 stars Free ALL the time on Google Play Store November 5, 2012
It is a good and fun game. But how can they say its free for today, when its always been free through the Google PlayStore? I think they just mark a price on otherwise free games, just to have a FAOTD.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great platformer! January 4, 2013

This is a great platformer, and is easily played as-is, but I, personally, would highly recommend a (Bluetooth) gamepad if you want to truly enjoy the game.

Objectives are clearly spelled out, but not overtly so, and the game is adequately challenging and rewarding.
