5.0 out of 5 stars An Enjoyable Book, Indeed!
For those who enjoy romance that isn't completely chock full of 'steamy' romance and sex and all of that, but rather in the plot and the development of characters, then I recommend this book. Its a quick read and well worth my time time spent reading it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth your time.....
I found this book to be well worth my time. The author does a good job bringing the reader into the character's world. I would have preferred that the author bring Nora and Liz together earlier in the book, shortening the time spent describing their pasts. The ending came too soon, it would have been enjoyable to see where their lives together took them....

5.0 out of 5 stars sweet and wonderful, September 30, 2004
This review is from: Nora and Liz (Paperback)
I loved this book. My favorite auther is Frankie Jones but I had read all of her books. I love hot steamy romances. There was some honesty to this book. A great read in my mind

2.0 out of 5 stars Original but...., July 11, 2004

This was a very different book. It deserves a praise for its orinality but it lacks in romance. I wish author would go more into their relatioship, their feelings and thoughts.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Simple But Pleasant Book, May 24, 2003
This review is from: Nora and Liz (Paperback)
This book is about two women who grow to love each other in difficult times. Liz is coming to terms with the end of a long-term relationship when she meets Nora. This book takes a simple and clean look at love and trust without all the hoopla of your typical "Radclyffe" romance novel. Definitely worth your time if your not expecting to be swept away!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not for everyone -, August 17, 2007
This review is from: Nora and Liz (Paperback)
I found this book to be very profound, especially if you've ever lost a parent or had to care for one. It's also about how we look at people and make assumptions about them. This book isn't a typical romance, and there isn't any hot sex. It's about emotions, sacrifice, family and love.

note - I only write reviews for books I recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air, January 8, 2007
This review is from: Nora and Liz (Paperback)
I find it amusing when people complain that they had to read through an entire 200-page book and didn't even get a sex scene as a reward. Actually, I thought this novel was a breath of fresh air among the mainstream lesbian romances that provide lots of hot sex and minimal character or plot development. The main characters and their backgrounds were developed in such depth with such a rich background that I truly cared about them and rejoiced when they found each other.

I have tremendous respect for the author of this book, Nancy Garden. She has written gay-themed books for children and teenagers, an act of courage even today. She is the author of "Annie on my Mind", the first and widely banned novel chronicling a relationship between two teenaged girls. She has written the kind of books many lesbians wish had been available when we were growing up. "Nora and Liz" is her first book for adult readers, and I truly hope will not be her last.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, April 23, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Nora and Liz (Paperback)
I am an avid Naiad/Bella reader, but I was very disappointed with Nora and Liz. I kept reading more and more thinking that it would get better, but it really didn't. If you're looking for a Karin Kallmaker-type romance, this is NOT the book for you.
