5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book to get kids started reading Science Fiction
Norby and the Invaders

I know that this book says that it was written by Isaac and Janet Asimov, but Isaac in his book I, Asimov said that Janet wrote these all on her own. All he did was proof read them and maybe offer a suggestion or two. I, for one, am going to start reading her other books (I've already got her Mind Transfer)...

3.0 out of 5 stars The 4th book in the funny science fiction series.
This is the fourth book in the humorous science fiction series for children about a young space cadet and his unusual robot Norby. In this story, beings from another planet have invaded a planet of friendly dragons and deactivated all of that planet's robots. To date the series contains the following books, not including the omnibus editions which have their own titles:

* Norby, the Mixed-Up Robot (1983)
* Norby's Other Secret (1984)
* Norby and the Lost Princess (1985)
* Norby and the Invaders (1985)
* Norby and the Queen's Necklace (1986)
* Norby Finds a Villain (1987)
* Norby Down to Earth (1988)
* Norby and Yobo's Great Adventure (1989)
* Norby and the Oldest Dragon (1990)
* Norby and the Court Jester (1991)

The three Omnibus Editions are:
The Norby Chronicles (Books 1 &2)
Norby Robot for Hire (Books 3 & 4)
Norby through Time and Space (Books 5& 6)

In the Norby and the Invaders you have the fourth adventure of Jeff Wells and his robot, Norby. You meet the dirigible-like invaders who can travel in hyper-space, . . As usual Norby gets them into a lot of trouble, but, never fear, in the end it is Norby, the awkward little robot, who discovers the answer to their dilemma. You meet `The Others", well sort of, and discover why the Invaders are anti-technology.
Don't worry all's well that ends well.

Highly recommended for beginning Science Fiction readers. Say about twelve years old.

In this story, beings from another planet have invaded a planet of friendly dragons and deactivated all of that planet's robots. Jeff and Norby attempt to thwart the invaders who, they discover, believe that technology is bad. They all learn that only misuse of technology is bad. This book and "Norby and the Lost Princess" (the third book in the series) were also published together as "Norby: Robot for Hire."
