The system consists of an audio-video receiver coupled with a single-disc DVD-video player, a five-channel speaker package, and a powered subwoofer. The DVD player accommodates standard disc formats, including CD-R, CD-RW, MP3-CD, and DVD-Video. DVD functions include resume and memory play (great when you're listening to CDs), A-B play (for looping a segment), parental locks, picture zoom, eight-grade fast or slow motion, and nine-picture +ACI-strobe+ACI- viewing. The player handles either NTSC or PAL video conversion, compatible with non-region-encoded DVDs from overseas. A VCR input lets you enjoy videotapes, and the system comes with a full-function remote control.+ADw-p+AD4- The speaker package features five satellites (left, center, right, and left-right surrounds) with frequency responses of 200 to 20,000 kHz (3 dB), while the 8-ohm, 30-watt powered subwoofer covers the low frequencies from 20 to 250 Hz. The 4-ohm satellites are powered by 15 watts per channel (at 10 percent THD).+ADw-p+AD4- Composite-video and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television. The receiver decodes full Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound and sends each channel to the appropriate speaker. You can also connect the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) to a CD or minidisc recorder for easy music transfers (though be aware that a DVD audio program cannot be recorded this way).

* Ok for a starter (will not satisfy an audiophile)
* Ok for small rooms
* Everything you expect from a DVD player is there
* Plays everything you throw at it
* Plays non-DVD media in 2.1 channels(2 speakers and a woofer)
* Worth the money you invest

Good One .. U cannot expect to get more when U get it for Cheap ... Throw any disc and it plays so far I have tried with the following formats DVD, CD, CDR, MP3,Kodak picture CD, VCD2-0, D VCD.
The Surround sound effects on Dolby Digitial DTS - DVD's was pretty hood.. however the catch is it plays all other disc's audio on just 3 speakers.
The SetUp and configuration was easy and they have a good Menu System. The instruction Manual is short - few pages only and I had to speak to there tech suppport who where very user freindly.
OverALL a GOOD BUY !!!

It has it all! It palys DVD, MP3, VCD, Music CD, CD-R, and even MPEG files. It also includes the receiver and speaker system.

What is not so good is that only two front speakers and subwoofer have sounds when playing anything other than DVDs that support Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound. And the subwoofer is too weak.

Anyhow, what can you expect fot [inexpensive] system? I say it is a great buy!
