Save space in your home and enjoy exceptionally bright, responsive images with the 42-inch Norcent PT-4231 widescreen plasma TV. It features up to a up to an 852 x 480-pixel resolution and you can select from the following display formats: 1080i (HDTV), 720p (HDTV), 480p/480i (EDTV). The PT-4231 has a built-in 181-chanel NTSC tuner, but you'll need a separate HDTV tuner to receive high-definition broadcasts.

The LCT2660 features a widescreen picture aspect ratio (16:9; standard TVs have a 4:3 aspect ratio), which is the ideal screen format for viewing widescreen video from DVD players and the growing availability of broadcast programming off digital HDTV tuners (HD content is always widescreen), cable boxes and satellite receivers.
It features a 1000:1 contrast ratio with a 700 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and a viewing angle of 160 degrees. The Picture-in-Picture (PIP) feature enables convenient simultaneous viewing of TV programs and video sources. The PT-4231 has two built-in 5-watt speakers (for 10 watts of total power) and can provide virtual surround sound. It features the following video and audio connections:

Well, this is my first foray into the 'high end' television experience. I'm satisfied with this particular model, although the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps Norcent expects you to already be familiar with the general product? I have HD cable and experience a few issues, although I don't know if this is the fault of the TV or Comcast Cable. For instance, on one of my HD local channels I get this funny looking stripe at the very top of the picture. It almost looks like a scrambled picture or something. Also, according to the TV documentation, the set supports up to 1080i. However the only setting on my cable box that is compatible is 480p. Now if I only had the slightest clue what those meant. LOL...
As I say, the TV itself is awesome. Nice, sharp picture with vibrant colors. If only the manual was a bit more user friendly...
