Product Description

Now, you can have all the exclusive Nord Electro 2 piano and B-3 organ sounds in a compact 19" unit - at a very affordable price! The previously released 5 and 6 octave keyboard versions of Nord Electro and Nord Electro 2 have become huge successes. A lot of keyboard players and studio musicians like to use a master keyboard for all their synths and samplers and for those, a rack mountable instrument is probably still the best choice. The Nord Electro Rack 2 comes with all the great sounds and features of the Nord Electro 2 keyboard models - except for the key bed. The Nord Electro 2 sounds The organ in the Electro 2 is based on a digital simulation of the mechanical tone wheels of the B-3 organ. It offers innovative solutions to mimic the typical B-3 sound, for example: A complex digital model of the original chorus and vibrato scanner. Modeling of the individual random contact bounces for each partial. Modeling of the unique frequency characteristics of the built-in pre-amplifier which forms the ?body? of the B-3 sound. Simulation of the energy stealth on the tone wheels that results in the typical compressed sound. Authentic tuning of the tone wheels according to the original B-3 design. The piano section comprises five carefully multi-sampled electric piano instruments: Rhodes Mk I Stage Piano, Rhodes Mk I Suitcase Piano, Wurlitzer 200A, Clavinet D6 (with 64 filter and pickup combinations) and the custom modified Clavia Electric Grand Model G. ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't become obsolete, December 26, 2006
This review is from: Nord Nord Electro 2 Rack Sound Module
I'm strictly play piano, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clav, and Hammond B3 live and in studio. This is the only tool I could find that ONLY did that. I didn't need the zillion useless sounds that come with most sound modules. I couldn't be any happier. The sounds are perfect. There are new sounds on their website you can download that are even better. The effects are amazing. I love that you can have the Leslie rotary emulator on any sound. Their Rhodes 4 with tremolo, overdrive, and the Leslie effect is astonishing. If you just want classic vintage keyboard sounds then this is the machine.

What can I say, it's the Electro 2 in a rack-mount box. I used this for a while with my fancy external midi controller. Other Electro 3 players still go ga-ga over the Electro 2's clavinet sound.

Super awesome. If you're familiar with the Electro 2, it really is the same instrument sans keyboard. It will make you drip with funk.
