5.0 out of 5 stars Love this pan!, August 7, 2006
This review is from: NordicWare Violet Bundt Pan (Kitchen)
I love making bundt cake (and eating it too). This pan has such a lovely, intricate design. It browns evenly, and comes out very easily as well. I'm quite pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely gorgeous presentation, March 15, 2008
This review is from: NordicWare Violet Bundt Pan (Kitchen)
Nordic Ware's Violet Bundt Pan makes an absolutely stunning presentation; criss-crossed with tendrils and ringed with a base of raised-detail violet leaves, the top of the cake is sprinkled with a ring of raised violets. The details show off particularly well when using unglazed cakes (a dusting of powdered sugar on darker cakes or a dusting of cocoa on lighter cakes will bring out the details). This is always a showstopper when I make my signature Mexican Fudge Pecan Cake from The Pastry Queen: Royally Good Recipes from the Texas Hill Country's Rather Sweet Bakery & Cafe, and people always think that my cakes made in the Violet Bundt came from some upscale bakery. Pricey, but it's made in the USA and will be a faithful friend for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Show-stopping Violet Cake Pan, November 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NordicWare Violet Bundt Pan (Kitchen)
There is something so delicate and distinctive about the design of this bundt pan and it is a show stopper on any buffet table or for a bake sale. You can highlight the violets by using a pastry brush and painting on lightly tinted glaze for a lovely effect, or just sprinkle a little sifted powdered sugar over the whole cake -- either way the result is a great looking cake.

The Nordic Ware pan is a heavy high quality piece of equipment and should last a life time if a few steps are taken to protect it. Never use metal utensils on the pan. And to ensure good release, spray the pan liberally with a cooking spray that contains flour, like Bakers Joy. Spray well and turn the pan upside down on papertowels while preparing the batter. Do not overbeat the cake batter -- be sure no more than 2 minutes -- because too many air bubbles will form and interfere with the design. And, most importantly, let the cake rest upright in the pan for 15 minutes before attempting to unmold. If using a cake mix be sure to alter it. Bundt cakes should be similar to pound cake -- heavy -- in order to get the best result from the design. There are many recipes on line in all the search engines.
