I was really worried about this pan. The first ever molded cake tin, and for a birthday party the next day, was it all going to stick and not come out nicely? Spending 1/2 hour on the internet comparing various pieces of advice on keeping mold cakes intact when removing from the pan... I ended up greasing well with butter, flouring, then letting the cake cool completely before removing. It came out PERFECTLY!!!
The pan itself is solidly made, and because the cake just slid out, easy to clean up.

Directions say to not fill pan more than 3/4 full, but that leaves zero batter in the antennas. I'm okay with no antennas on the cake. I decorated my strawberry butterfly just like a regular cake, using lots of frosting stars. It turned out great! Adding a picture to the product pics, since the product pics don't show how the cake could possibly look when completely covered in frosting.

This is exactly as described. Very good quality. I grease the pan every time I use it. The motif forms beautifully and it is easy to unmold.

Despite reading the reviews I was still a little apprehensive about how easily this would come out of the pan. I needn't have worried, came out easily. I did however have a few issues in getting the cake batter into the head portion, and dropping on the bench to take out the airbubbles wasn't totally effective, but managed it in the end. If your oven runs a little hot, like mine, it may pay to experiment with baking temperature as the cake continues to cook a little in the retained heat of the pan after it comes out of the oven and mine ended a little browner than I wanted - not that it seemed to make any difference to the cake eaters in our household. Initially this was for a birthday but I think I'll be using it for more occasions as the cake is just so gorgeous it really doesn't need all the refined sugars that frosting adds.

I bought this cake pan so me and my grand daughter could make cakes for the assisted living center in our town and it went over so well. After decorated it is so cute.
