I wasn't sure if the cakes would come out as cute and pretty as the mold, but they really do! Since I'm not big on baking or cooking, I didn't go all the way and decorate them (and my little one hates icing anyway!), but it didn't matter - they still looked great! (And I think if you were to put icing on them, you'd really have to go all the way with different colors, crystals, etc. because then you'd lose some of the detail when you cover it up with the icing, so you'd have to work hard to bring it all out again!)

this is the second Nordic ware item I have bought from amazon (I highly recommend the backyard bugs pan: butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, and bees) and I am extremely satisfied all over again! I love this pan, bought it for a baby shower cake I made and the faces turned out crystal clear for me to make out of icing. *tip from me, if you dye the batter of the cake with food color (gel not liquid) for example, blue batter for a whale, whatever cake part is left without icing still has beautiful color and looks great with the dyed icing as well! :)

My Grandson and I had fun while making these little cakes. Hint: Use the cake recipe that is listed on the back of the cardboard wrap, a regular cake mix is not dense enough to form properly. I also bought the Train and Train Cars, the bugs and the dinosaurs

This is such a cute pan! I've made cakes in it as well as brownies. I spray it with a little canola oil before putting any batter in. I've had no problems with sticking, overbaking, etc. I do level off the bottoms so they lay flat after they cool. Am very happy with this. Would definitely recommend and buy again!

this is adorable. i bought for my sons first bday party. you really need to saturate with no-stick spray though. also, you have to be inventive to frost the cupcakes: i cut each cupcake in half and smeared it with frosting (like a cupcake sandwich with frosting in the middle) and then did little accent frosting on the actual faces to help highlight what each animal was (i copied the picture on the box for ideas). i got TONS of compliments and they were very cute. hoping to need to use these again soon :-)

I love this pan. I have only had it a month and I can't even remember how many batches of cupcakes I have made with it. Make sure to grease and flour it well. And the recipe provided with the pan works perfect and tastes amazing. Only once did we have an issue and it was because my husband did not grease and flour the pan enough. It has been incredibly easy to clean. I am going to look into more of these Nordic Ware pans!

P.S. I'm not much of a baker so it is even easy for beginners.

For my first time using this I made corn bread animals for a BBQ party. They were a hit and everyone loved them. The muffin pan was easy to use but I did notice the corn bread did stick a little and cased some muffins to not turn out. I'm going to try some butter or a spray next time and see if that helps keep the muffins from sticking.

The key I use to getting them to pop out just fine is to use crisco. Sure, they're nonstick, but... They aren't always, so I go that step. If I'm going to use the pan, I'm going to make sure it works... I haven't had a problem with them being unrecognizable, but a denser batter does show up better.
