4.0 out of 5 stars Must use Baker's Joy!
I have used this pan 4 times, and have finally perfected it on the 4th attempt. I swore that if it stuck on my last attempt that I would through the pan out the window. The first several times I only greased the pan and the cakes stuck 3 of the times. The key is using "Baker's Joy", a cooking spray you can find in your local grocery store or through the Nordicware...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard to clean
I own four Bundt pans, and this is my least favorite. Even though it has the same capacity as two of my other pans (10 cups), the cakes from this pan look smaller and more compact. The detail on the cake is lovely, but the pan is a pain in the neck to clean. The narrowness of the ridges trap cake crumb, Baker's Joy, non-stick spray, and flour - I have not been able to...

The first several times I only greased the pan and the cakes stuck 3 of the times. The key is using "Baker's Joy", a cooking spray you can find in your local grocery store or through the Nordicware website. This spray greases and flours in one. I used it last night and my cake literally fell out of the pan--it was wonderful. It also made the pan cleanup 100 times easier. Also, you can only fill the pan 3/4 of the way or it will spill over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't worry about those nooks and crannies!, May 22, 2000

I had to have this pan as soon as I saw it here at Amazon.com, 'cause it looked so cool. I was, however, a little worried when I received it and saw all the corners. I figured that even though the pan is nonstick, I'd still have difficulty getting the cake out of it. Not a problem! I *did* spray the pan with oil and then flour it, just to be safe, and golly, the gorgeous marble cake I made (from Sax's "Classic Home Desserts," another fave) practically flew out of the pan! The shape really stood out after I dusted the cake with powdered sugar. So, home bakers, fear not--this cool-looking pan works!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is how to make your cakes look special, August 7, 2000
This is a high quality cake pan. You will be passing this one down to someone. It is incrediably study. I have used mine to make molded jello, cakes, breads. This pan has no hot spots, and is well simply perfect! Do not limit yourself to just an occassional cake with this.

Another wonderful bundt pan by Nordic Ware. They have mastered the bundt pan market. I have several pans and all, including this one, bake evenly. Best of all they turn out of the pan in one piece with such detail. They look beautiful, there is really no special trick to get the cakes to unmold so nicely, but I have found that if I butter and flour the pan, then let the cake cool for twenty minutes before unmolding they come out great every time. You will only need a little powered sugar for decoration. I also recommend the star bundt by Nordic ware. It is perhaps a more stricking design than this pan, but, use both for variety.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love Nordicware Pans!, March 30, 2003

I think I own four of their "specialty" baking pans including the Rose Pan. Everytime I bake a cake in this pan it comes out so nice, people always think I bought it at a bakery. The only tip I can give in using these pans is to grease them well with shortening. I brush it on with a pastry brush so I get it in every space. You won't be disappointed in this pan. Even something so simple looks so pretty when baked in it.

You can't tell from the pictures, but this pan is very heavy. The cast aluminum heats evenly and the cakes bake well. I was worried that cakes would stick to this pan, since it has so much detail. That hasn't been a problem. I just butter and flour the pan, then let it cool for twenty minutes before removing the cake. It comes out beautifully everytime. I was amazed. A dusting of powdered sugar or cocoa is all you need to decorate it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Actually Works!, August 26, 2003
I may be Doubting Thomas, but I was sure no cake would ever come out perfect from this ornate bundt pan. Hey, it actually works-- with a little help from PAM spray. I recently baked a perfectly formed, perfectly baked lime pound cake from the recipe that came with the purchase of the pan. It's one of the best pound cake recipes I've tried. Non-bakers will think you are a genius when you present this simple, tasty, handsome cake!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to your bakeware collection, November 11, 2003

I received this pan for Christmas 2002, after pining for it every time I went to Williams-Sonoma. The pan is lovely, very heavy, and high quality. I either spray with non-stick cooking spray or spray and sprinkle it with flour prior to baking, and have never had a problem with sticking. None of my cakes have overflowed, but I always use a boxed mix, not a homemade recipe. To make a pink rose cake, add one packet of strawberry gelatin to a regular white cake mix. The color will be beautiful. I found that if I used a strawberry flavored cake mix, the cake wasn't as pink, but more tan. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Lovely!, October 26, 2003
I really like baking and I like to give away my creations, that's why I prefer them to be pretty as well as tasty. This pan fits the bill perfectly! I was immediately attracted to the lovely and highly unusual design, so I decided to give it a try, even if it is more expensive than the average pans I use (and worth every cent!), but I read Nordic Ware is highly appreciated by professionals, there had to be a reason. Now I know it: the pans are really heavy weight and they come with a lifetime warranty, even though I'm sure no one will ever need it. The non stick coating looks really durable and I'm sure that if you don't misuse it it will last forever. The cakes I baked so far came out perfectly well and looked stunning, without much fuss, just a light glaze, or confectioner sugar. They rise beautifully and bake evenly thanks to the thickness of the pan.
Well, to make a long story short: if you are looking for a new way to present your favourite recipes, look no further, any of the new Nordic Ware pans will look lovely on your coffee table!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect everytime!, December 26, 2002

This review is from: Nordic Ware Pro Cast Bavaria Bundt Pan (Kitchen)
When you bake with the Bavaria pan, you can be sure that the finished product is consistent in shape everytime. The pan bakes evenly and there is a crispness of form when the cake is unmolded.
