Bought two of these pans. Most of my NordicWare is very sturdy, however these pans don't seem to be made as well. A little on the light and flimsy side not to mention that when cleaning the lid, got cut on the sharp edge of the lip!

Good points:

light weight,

clean way to transport cake.

easily cleaned

Bad points:

Hard to manipulate the lid.

Scratches easily.

I was so excited when I received the Nordic Ware 9X13 inch cake pan with the metal lid for Christmas two years ago. I used often and loved it until recently. It now has black spots and looks horrible. I can live with the appearance, but what is worse than the appearance is that the pan has corroded itself and there are now approximately 20 holes of varying size where the spots are the darkest. If I hold it up to the light it looks like the night sky. I believe this damage may have been caused by the use of the dishwasher (indicated as dishwasher safe), and acid from an upside down strawberry shortcake that was left in the pan too long. I can not cook anything in this thing anymore as any non-solid runs through it onto the bottom of my oven and create a huge mess.

I do need to add that some of my family members have had their Nordic Ware pans for 10-20 years and they still look phenomenal. My 8X8 pan that came with the 9X13 pan still looks great minus a few expected scratches. I think the 9X13 pan should have held up better, or the company should stand behind their products. As I received it as a gift I have no receipt for the warranty replacement and customer service will not help because there is no way to verify purchase date. I had always thought that this was a great brand and a good company. I am let down.

My wife has been looking for these Covered Cake Pans everywhere she goes, with no luck. Her old ones have just wore out, and we use them all the time. Not just for cake either, they are great for outdoor cooking on the grill as well as storage for food that needs to stay warm until serving, just load one up and pop it in a warm oven. Foods don't dry out and stay hot until you need them. I'm just glad I found these pans, now I'm her hero.

The Nordic Ware pans with the metal lids (9x9 and 9x13) are low quality, sharp edges on lid, lid does not fit and hard to get on and off, and mine came with the base dented. Absolute junk! I ordered a dozen of these pans to use for an event. They worked great. The lids are a little hard to work with but I didn't need them for this purpose. The biggest drawback was that I couldn't stack the pans inside of each other. They became stuck together and it took awhile to work them back apart. If you are buying only one then this wouldn't be an issue.

I would buy this product again. Even heat distribution, excellent depth and food didn't stick as long as I used oil and flour on the pan first.

I used to have a pan like this that got lost! I used it for about twenty years and I hope to use this one for just as long if not longer. The cover fits tight and keeps the cake fresh and moist. I also use it to make cornbread and other dishes besides cakes and brownies!

I gave this as a gift, but had been looking for a cake pan with a metal lid. I use mine all the time and think they are great. Shipping was nice and fast for this order.

Don't be fooled by the fact that this 9x13 pan has the same name as other Nordic Ware "Natural Commercial Bakeware" pans. Those pans come with a green colored label and are a completely different product. I have muffin pans and loaf pans out of the more heavyweight aluminum and am very pleased with them. This is NOTHING like those, despite carrying the same name.

When this 9x13 pan with metal cover arrived, I was immediately disappointed to find it was nothing like the other Nordic Ware pans I have enjoyed. The construction is much flimsier than the other pans. The aluminum is thinner and has a completely different finish. Even the roll around the steel reinforcement band is a fraction of the size of the other pans. Maybe it will function as I would like, but I was hoping for a heavyweight 9x13 pan. I'm not sure I'm keeping it.

The metal cover is already dented from trying to take it off the pan the first time. It is way too thin, the edges are too sharp, and the snap off design means bending the lid to get it off the pan.

Like I said, the pan may function as well as you need. That's why I allowed a 3-star rating. Just be warned that it is nothing like the other Nordic Ware pans that are nice and heavy and will probably last a lifetime.

Pan is made very well. Love the cover, we use it to bake chicken. Its used at least 3 time a week.
