4.0 out of 5 stars NordicWare Fancy Heat Baking Pan &Brownie mix
The Heart shaped brownie was beautiful and the design of the pan showed up great on the baked brownie. The brownie mix was delicious. I received this for a gift and was delighted.

3.0 out of 5 stars $17.50 is too much when the pan is Not Cast Aluminum and the brownie mix is sweet
Since the grooves in this pan are not as deep as the Sunflower or the Rose, I am okay with ordering the cheaper non cast aluminum version. Nordicware sells the Brownie Mix on their website for Eight Dollars.

Since the grooves in this pan are not as deep as the Sunflower or the Rose, I am okay with ordering the cheaper non cast aluminum version. Nordicware sells the Brownie Mix on their website for Eight Dollars.

This pan is thin metal and feels no frills. It's not as attractive in reality as it photographs. I'm more excited by the brownie mix than I am the pan. The brownies pictured on the package are in single serving heart shapes.

The brownies did retain the shape of the pan but I was too fragile to release in one piece so I cut it into sections and put them back together out of the pan. The pan does work.

The brownie mix that has gotten raves is not worth $8. From the reviews, I was expecting them to taste like the brownies I can get at Bloomingdale's or at certain very good sandwich shops. They are okay but too sweet for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pan turns out nice cakes and even Brownies!, February 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nordic Ware Fancy Heart Baking Pan with Brownie Mix (Kitchen)
I bought the combination with the brownie mix as an Xmas gift for my mother and were both pleasantly surprised at how well the pan performed both at turning out lovely cakes and in well it turned out the heart-shaped brownie from the mix. Sometimes shaped pans just don't work for brownies but this one worked beautifully. The mix that came with it was wonderful as well, a very decadant, fudgey brownie. If you like to make cakes without frosting, or real "killer" chocolate cakes, this pan would work well. It leaves the imprint of the delicate pattern on the top and you could then dust the cake with Confectioner's sugar or even with Cocoa powder. As with all nordicware pans, I'd stay away from heavy, protein flour cakes (Lo-Carb recipes) because they tend to stick in any patterned pan. We also haven't tried this pan with a "flourless" choclate cake yet, so I can't say whether a chocolate cake like that (made with ground almonds and just a coupple tablespoons of flour) would come out without sticking. Therefore I'd say, use this pan for regular cake recipes, cake mixes and brownie recipes and you'll get consistant, lovely results. I think it's a nice bonus that you can use it with a brownie mix or a brownie recipe!
