I was looking for a couple new pans for the holiday season and when I saw this one I knew it was perfect. I used it to make small cakes (banana) for a work fundraiser bake sale for United Way and then used it to make individual goodies to give as gifts. It also was the perfect size to bring to work for a treat for our small group.
Pan is hefty, cakes slipped out easily. I LOVE it! I'd like to find another pan with other designs if they make one.

Now folks lets not get excited about this pan. After all it is just a pan. Right? Well no its not! It is certainly a quality product: heavy duty and super non-stick. Makes two (2) cakes (or just one (1) if you like: just enough for two (2) people) and they slide right out of the pan. My first attempt at a bundt cakes and they came out without a blemish. Another Nordic Ware premium product. Would recommend this pan to anyone who has hesitated to make a bundt cake and also to old timers. It will work great for everyone.

The individual pans in this duo are 5.5" in diameter and about 2.25" tall. To get a visual on size, the finished cakes are about the size of Trader Joe's 16 oz cakes. I was hoping they would be the size of the 24 oz Trader Joe's cakes, but these will still work perfectly.

The shape and designs on these cakes is much fancier than the traditional small loaf pans I use for my fruit cakes. Since a small portion is really all you want with fruit cake, the cakes are divided into 8 and 12 portions if you cut within the valleys on the design. The Fleur de lis has eight ridges, the other cake twelve.

I like to make my fruit cake well ahead of time so that they are thoroughly soaked. I will do my Christmas batches in August or September. I purchased two pans so that I can make them using production line methods. I do not have a full size oven. These pans will fit in my 6 slice toaster oven. I place a baking stone under the pan to insure even baking. This step probably isn't necessary in a full size oven, but a baking stone helps to even out the heat in a toaster oven. The pan size is about 6.5" x 12.5". Because the ends are rounded, they will fit diagonally in a smaller space. So, they will fit in as little oven space as 9.5" x 9.5" square.

The pan is platinum, so the best baking results are expected.

Another reviewer suggested these cakes are a perfect tea party size for children. I agree. In fact, they are a perfect tea party size period since portion size is smaller.

If you are dieting, these cakes are small and portion size is tiny. Think Demitasse! Again perfect! I would not serve even a half or quarter of one of these cakes. I would use the built in cutting lines on the pattern to cut either 8 or 12 portions respectively.

I love NordicWare pans, and I even like this one. However, these pans are listed as 5 cups total, not 6 cups as described. I know, it's a minor detail, but...

Sigh. They're pretty, and I haven't used the pan yet (because I'm debating if I'm going to return it), but they are definitely smaller than I expected, and I wouldn't have purchased them had I seen them in person first. I guess I was looking for a "medium" sized cake pan, and these seem quite small to me. Not as small as an individual serving size, and that's another problem. How to serve these? I would guess that a normal sized portion would be somewhere between a quarter and a sixth of each finished cake. Which wouldn't sit well on a plate.

What I *do* think this would be perfect for would be a little girl's tea party. So, when you make a normal bundt and have extra batter, your little one could have their own cake. Kind of like when my grandmother would make pies and let me make a tiny one with the leftover crust and filling.

I Edited, and took a star away. I decided to make cakes in them yesterday, and they are MUCH too small to be practical. They're even too small for when I bake and give away cakes to the neighbors during holidays. It's just a very wierd awkward size.

Have only used this once since purchase but as with all the other bundt pans, with the use of cake release, the cakes simply fell out of the pan without any trouble. I like to try different combinations of flavours in my cakes and found this duet pan ideal for making a couple of cakes. Infact I made an Irish Cream in one and a Pineapple and coconut in another, so they're great when trying out something new and you don't want to make a large bundt. Also just enough when there are may be only two or three people to share it.

I am becoming a bundt pan addict. Wish I had found them years ago.

I like the shape and quality of Nordic ware product. One thing bothered me before buying this item is I am not sure about its size. Now I know and want to share the info with other customers like me. This duet pan can take 5 cups batter in total. The individual size is perfect for a gift to one adult or a kid with good appetite. Btw, my son can eat a cake in a meal and save the other one for breakfast. He really like my homemade cakes!

I recently acquired this pan and took it for a test bake... Wonderful! The resulting two bundt cakes were remarkable. They came out looking just like those in the nordic ware picture. And the recipe that came with it was delicious, very moist and tender. The cakes browned beautifully. I have no complaints about this or any other Nordic Ware pan that I have (my collection is growing). Be sure to butter the pans well and flour, then let cool completely for quick and easy release. You will enjoy these beautiful cakes.

Ps. I don't understand why Nordic Ware would release two versions of their pans, one silver and the other grey or black. I haven't had a problem with either, but I do prefer the silver - it's the safer choice for beginners.

As always, Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! And Happy Holidays!
