5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous Heart Shaped Pan
Perfect for Valentine's Day or any day. With very little effort it looks like great effort was taken. I particularly love the the guide the indentations provide -- shows you right where to cut each piece of cake. Pan preparation is the most important step so take a few minutes and do it right. This product presents a very attractive cake but the slices are too thick when cut. The angle at which the cake has to be cut presents this problem. The manufacture of the pan is solid, I was very impressed with the weight and quality of the pan but a heart shape cake is hard to cut.

Perfect for Valentine's Day or any day. With very little effort it looks like great effort was taken. I particularly love the the guide the indentations provide -- shows you right where to cut each piece of cake. Pan preparation is the most important step so take a few minutes and do it right. Spray liberally with a cooking spray that contains flour like Bakers Joy then turn the pan upside down on a paper towel to drain out the excess. The another vital step is, once the cake is finished baking, let it cool upright in the pan 10-15 minutes (no shorter or longer) before turning the cake out onto a plate. Lastly, if you want the detail to really pop, use a light cake (yellow, white, spice, etc.) with a very thick batter -- there are many bundt cake recipes on the internet. If you use a cake mix without altering it for the bundt pan, some detail will be lost - so check for cake mix adaptations on the internet. It looks spectacular with just a little powdered sugar dusted over the details. I use these style pans all the time (at least weekly) and have never had a cake stick -- but those two steps at the beginning and end of the process will help success.

I made the Silver Palate Lemon cake using Heart Pan - Even before everyone knew how delicious it was, it got plenty of WOWs for being beautiful!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Cast Aluminum Fancy Heart Pan, February 11, 2009

Very nice, very heavy cast aluminum pan with a non-stick finish. Spray it with a veggie oil spray CONTAINING FLOUR and your cakes will release perfectly every time. Bake your cake at 325° for both better baking, and a lighter colored cake. Mine like this is pink on the exterior. The only thing I don't like about this pan is that it makes such a large heart that a person finds they need a special cake board on which to place it, but it slices so nicely, and really does make an attractive cake.

This heavyweight, well constructed bundt pan produces a beautiful fluted heart cake. Each time I use it, I get numerous compliments. Unlike many other intricate pans, I have never had a problem with either pieces of the baked cake sticking to the pan or the final design being unrecognizable. One note though is that the pan does not hold the entire amount one cake mix makes. You can always make cupcakes with the leftover batter!
