4.0 out of 5 stars Family business story that's a gem, November 14, 2006
By
This review is from: The Nordic Ware Saga: An Entrepreneur's Legacy (Paperback)
In each household, I am willing to bet there is at least one piece from the Nordic Ware line, whether it is the Bundt Cake pan, the Micro-Go-Rounds, or any one of the Maids of Scandinavia bakeware. The Dalquists were keenly aware that food could be prepared easier and faster with these advanced products.

The Nordic Ware Saga is a story about a Minnesota entrepreneur who had a desire to own a business and make a difference in society. Not only did H. David Dalquist take the risk to follow in his father's footsteps in managing a successful business, he created a template on how to run a family business for the second generation. Long before he became a success, David's mother Mabel and his father Henry, saw great potential in David and his brother Mark. They nurtured that potential by encouraging them to use their imagination for good.

Eager to learn, they lived by the truism "Success is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine perspiration." A strong work ethic, a desire to provide high-level customer service, and curiosity were the driving forces behind this exciting piece of Minnesota history.

Dalquist tells the story of his family's company and its rise to success by recounting the many people he met and the situations they encountered on along the road to destiny.

This book is truly a gem. The Nordic Ware Saga is about developing relationships and the quest for unique products that offered households efficiency and creativity.

Armchair Interviews says: Anyone who is interested in learning what it takes to run a family business and make a difference in the world, read this book.
