Nordic Ware Scandinavian Silver Dollar Pancake Pan

Lighter than a cast iron pan but with substantial weight to conduct heat evenly, this Nordic Ware Silver Dollar Pancake pan makes quite attractive small pancakes. The round indentations have a 3 1/4 inch diameter and are 1/4 inch deep. Regular pancake batter works fine and turning them is easy even if they puff up quite high, just don't overload each compartment - about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoon of batter is plenty.

There is only one recipe included with the pan - Buttermilk Pancakes - so if specialty pancakes are desired, recipes will need to be obtained elsewhere (many are available on-line.) I've used the pan for blueberry, sweet potato and sour dough pancakes with great success. And, as with all non-stick pans, do not use metal utensils or harsh scouring pads on the surface - and be sure to keep the heat medium-low, never on high. And, although the pan is non-stick, brush with oil before each use.

I received this pan as a gift and wondered if it would be relegated to the back of the cabinet, taken out once a year, but I've actually been using it at least once a week to prepare both pancakes and eggs. The compartment is exactly the right size to make a perfect round circle of scrambled eggs for an English muffin breakfast sandwich.

The pan also works well for mini-crepes. Tiny desserts are a favorite because the indulgence is small. I used hazelnut spread as the filling and added a small scoup of vanilla bean ice cream to the plate (whipped cream would work well, too) and drizzled a little chocolate sauce over the top and it was a tiny confection that no one at dinner could refuse. Seconds? Why not!

As with all Nordic Ware merchandise, it is made in the USA. It is a high quality pan and with proper care, should last a lifetime.

I am an old-fashioned guy who prefers iron for cooking but when I could not find an iron pancake pan I settled on this and found that it works just fine.

Non-stick surface, light-weight and most importantly, makes great plättar. Plättar is a Swedish type of blini, like a smaller version of Swedish pancakes.

Love this pan - pancakes cook evenly, clean up is easy. A joy to use and everyone seems to love the silver dollar pancakes!

I already own this product and am now gifting two pans to other families. Works like a charm, especially with Martha Stewart's Swedish Pancake recipe in her book "Hors d'Oeuvres."

I bought this pancake pan as a gift for my husband. It's terrific. It makes pancakes easy to cook along with eggs. The clean up is really easy. We use our pan almost every day. After 5 months of use, the pan looks like new. If you are considering a pancake pan, this one is worth the price.

This pan is excellent for making Swedish pancakes on a glass cooktop.
All three of my daughters love it and enjoy using their grandmother's
pancake recipe.

I bought one of these for myself and liked it so much I bought three more for my grandchildren...they love the look and size of the pancake and when they saw it in my house they asked if I would buy it for them..very happy with it....lo

Excellent pan, perfect size for mini-pancakes. This is a good sturdy pan that is fun to use and easy to clean. Making seven silver dollar pancakes at once is definitely easier with this pan.

This is a great pancake pan. My sons love small pancakes and this makes them perfectly. Although the pan is light, the pans won't burn. Good choice.
