My wife wanted an upright stationary bike. She did her research and found a couple that she wanted to try out. At the local s3ars store, she got to try them out and picked the GX 2.7 because of how sturdy it felt, the adjustment options of the seating position, and the programs it provided. We paid $279.

I picked up the box and figured it would take me a half hr at most to assemble it - and it would have, except I ran into the same issue a lot of people do: mounting the front control panel and handle.

Step 9 of the instructions stated:
" Attach the Picot Bracket (11) with two M8 x 58mm Bolts (24)......Tip: If necessary, rotate the Handlebar (4) to a different angle so that there us sufficient space to tighten the M8 x58mm Bolts (24) into the Upright (27)."

This is where I got stuck. No amount of rotation, twisting, etc. could get the bolt to thread through. Eventually, I disassembled sections of the upright using hex tools and was able to easily thread the bolt through and complete assembly...2hrs later. Very sturdy. I took pictures of the sections I disassembled but don't have a way to upload them.

So far, my wife loves it and based on her review, I give it 5 stars.

Agree with above review - after waiting at least 30 min each time to reach a customer service rep - unable to assemble this bike ie cannot attach the handlebars to the post as directed in the assembly instructions - "if necessary rotate the handlebar to a different angle so that there is sufficient space to tighten the bolts into the upright post." - nothing rotates. There is no assembly video online probably for a reason. . And when a rep was reached - they were helpful - and offered to email the updated version of the assembly instructions - which still did not help. For a mere $140 Nordic Track will send someone to assemble. Hmmm might be interesting to watch.

I was able to rotate the handlebar and assembled it easily. It took about an hour and 15 minutes. Works great.

I tried this in the store and it seemed good enough. But after spending 3 hours putting it together there was no resistence on the pedaling and it wasn't remedied by adjusting the resistance on the console. I spent another hour with the Nordictrack rep on the phone. He had me test the console and electronics with no change. As I was working with him I noticed the belt was totally off the wheel. I then spent another hour trying to get it on with help. Could barely get it on and it is too tight.... and it is clear it wont stay. there is no picture of the belt and how it threads through in their manual-- I keep thinking maybe that is the problem. But it is extremely difficult to work in that part of the bike. I am now 13 minutes into my phone call to the rep to try one more time to fix it with rep help. If it doesn't help or I wait much longer I am taking it back. I resent the hours I have put into to this.
