Have tissue handy,

This review is from: Nordie's at Noon: The Personal Stories of Four Women "Too Young" for Breast Cancer (Hardcover)
As others have mentioned, I read the review in People magazine and picked up the book the next day. The approach taken by the authors is a great approach with each woman sharing her experience on the journey. I would recommend this book to any woman I know (and have). But if I were to give it as a gift, I'd include a package of tissues alongside!

I bought this for my mom, a breast cancer survivor. I had read a bit of it before I gave it to her and really like the style, very clever and real. My mom did say she is enjoying the book but would have rather had it while she was going through her treatments. She says that it is hard to go back to that place in time be it in films, tv, or books. She is very involved in helping other women going through treatments and says that she plans to use this book to help her new friends. Best of luck to those of you out there facing this horrible cancer or have loved ones in this situation, but you are never alone and there are always angels when you least expect it.

I am an oncology nurse, and I found this book to be both medically correct and very interesting. I cried, laughed, and got easily involved in this book. The women gave very honest and frank views of going through chemo, as well as projecting their personalities and strong will to live. Highly recommended!!

I bought this book because the four authors are from Kansas City and I am really glad I did! I enjoyed reading their courageous stories and it was a real eye-opener about living with cancer and the toll the treatments took on their bodies. Their stories were a real-life account of what living with cancer is like. The book was a little repetitive at times, but overall very well written. Highly recommended!

This book was fabulous. I have never left a comment on a book before, but feel the need to share just how great this is. Since encountering several of my own scares, this book opened my eyes to what can lie ahead. It answers questions honestly and openly. It is not only informative but also personal. Read it for yourself, you will never forget Patti, Jana, Kim and Jennifer!

Being a survivor myself, I just loved this book...hearing from women who were young and vivacious and then their world comes crashing down, only to build it back up with the love of their families, friends and themselves...

Nordies at Noon is a great read! Each of the four women tell their stories of their battle with breast cancer. The book is broken up into chapters that focus on one aspect (diagnosis, etc). After reading about these women, I felt like I knew them. It is very informative and puts breast cancer on the level of the average reader.

This book is an amazing story about the four women authors on their journey with breast cancer, God, family, and friends. I feel so much more enlightened and comfortable with the topic of breast cancer; I've grown tremendously from my experience reading the book. One of the mantra's for one of the authors is Live, Love, Laugh. My mantra has always been Live, Love, Laugh, Learn. I Learned a great deal from this book and believe it will help others Learn about friendship and one very important part of life no one can escape. Of course, there is a huge emphasis in the book on Living, Loving and Laughing. I gave a copy of this book to approximately 100 friends across the nation. I hope this story will help many people Learn more about their family and friends who are, or who will inevitably, Live, Love, and Laugh their way through breast cancer. My Live, Love, Laugh, Learn Campaign - "PASS IT ON!" I ask that anyone who reads this review to read this book. Then purchase several copies for others. Many people will better understand this life experience. If everyone simply buys two books and asks the people with whom they share the book to "pass it on," the number of people we can reach is incredible.

Reading these women's stories is just what I needed being a "young" breast cancer survivor. I laughed, I cried and most of all, I found a connection to others I didn't realize I'd been longing for. A must read for EVERYONE!!

I read about "Nordie's at Noon" from my weekly PEOPLE magazine subscription. I actually bought the book on vacation and could not put it down--it is a quick read, but so very powerful and inspiring. I admire these four ladies' courage and their stance not to be victims. They are true survivors and are an inspiration to anyone faced with any type of illness. I passed the book along to a friend who has breast cancer as well. When you read the book, you definitely feel like you know the four authors. I recommend this book to ALL woman!
