3.0 out of 5 stars What happened to him?, January 9, 2008
I first heard about Victor Santiago when he was one half of Capone-N-Noreaga (CNN to you underground heads) and they released the stellar album The War Report. But after Capone went to prison (again), Noreaga released a solo album, N.O.R.E., which was just as great, if not greater. But then he released an album called Melvin Flynt da Hustler that was so bad that I couldn't even finish listening to it. Because of that, I didn't pick up his following album God's Favorite (which was the point where he changed his tag to N.O.R.E.). Now he comes back at us with Noreality, his first album on Babygrande.

N.O.R.E. still has the same voice and energy that he always had, but the problem is that he just doesn't have anything to say any more. A lot of the songs have wack choruses, like "Throw `Em Under the Bus", "The Rap Game", the childish "Green Light", and "Pop a Pill". The obligatory sexual song "Eat P" also falls into that category, but it's also bizarre in that the hook has N.O.R.E. saying: "If you wanna get your p ate/Girls make noise", but then MEN scream. But the rest of that song isn't all that either, as Peedi Peedi's final verse makes the song go from disgusting to painful; and N.O.R.E. says something about gettin' "that Rodney King can't-we-all-just-get-along p". Huh?

Disappointments continue, as "Shoes" is a lame song about how sexy women look in certain kinds of footwear, and "Paternity Test" is hard to get into. "Cocaine Cowboys" is about as interesting as "Cocaine Business" (from Melvin Flynt da Hustler), and the final minute of an already dull "Drink Champ" has N.O.R.E. talking about eating pizza with his friends for some reason. While the Three 6 Mafia-assisted "That Club Ish" (although the Triple 6's are only there during the chorus) is decent, it definitely isn't enough to save the album. N.O.R.E. must be in dreamland if he thinks this album is realistic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Straight garbage!!!, September 1, 2007

Nothing but garbage from beginning to end. This must've taken N.O.R.E. all of two days to put together...at least that's how it sounded. He's never been a strong lyricist (but I still liked N.O.R.E. and God's Favorite), but this puts him at the very bottom of the skilled lyricist list.

Don't waste your money!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Norefantasy, March 16, 2008
Noreaga use to be that guy during The CNN War Report days but he has been getting wacker since Melvyn Flint The Hustler and this album buries him in a coffin. It's hard to say what song on here is stands out because the most of this album sucks. Throw Em Under The Bus feat Kurupt and Jadakiss is okay but the hook is wack. The same could be said about Set It Off feat Swizz Beatz. Sour Diesel feat Styles P is the worst smoke joint next to Ludacris's Blueberry Yum Yum. Pop A Pill and Drink Champ are disrespectfully weak and Eat P**** feat Tru Life and Peedi Buttcrakk is so bad you wont even be able to listen to it all in one sitting. Even the song with Three 6 Mafia, That Club S*** is terrible. Paternity Test is too stupid to be taken seriously even though the song tries to be serious. Shoes is the worst song on here next to Eat P**** and the rest of this album doesnt even warrant a mention. It's sad to see a rapper who showed promise when he first came out put out albums as bad as this one. NORE: PLEASE HANG IT UP WHILE WE STILL HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF YOU AND CNN!!!
