4.0 out of 5 stars N.O.R.E. returns with a nice album, April 1, 2008
By G$ "Z-Wad" (B-More, MD) - See all my reviews

Just 9 months since his "Norminacal" album, Noreaga returns with his 5th solo (not counting his Raggaeton album and unfortunately we'll never see the "1 Fan A Day" released). Back in the day C-N-N dropped 2 classic albums and after that basically disappeared, Noreaga was holding the group down for a bit then he kind of fell off as well. His first 2 albums I liked alot (yes I may be the only fan of "Melvin Flynt Da Hustler"), then his "God's Favorite" was average and I was pleased with his "Norminacal" album as well, this one is 4 stars and probably tied for my 3rd favorite of his 5 solo's. Like most of his albums, you get alot of songs about drinking drugs, and sex, with a few funny odd ones as well. Of the 13 songs, 4 are ok, 8 are good a few being real good, and 1 is almost a classic. Guests rap on 5 songs and do the hook on 4 others. Production is decent. Oz does 3 songs, Kyze Beats does 2, and Swizz Beats, ALChemist, Tony Heathcliff, Hazardous Sounds, Algado, Dame Grease, Boola and Dakari all do 1 song. A nice album album for his fans to grab a hold of.

#2 - 6.5 (f/ Three-6 Mafia)
#3 - 8 (f/ Jadakiss & Kurupt)
#4 - 9
#5 - 9.5 (f/ Final Chapter & Capone -- nice beat)
#6 - 6.5 (f/ Deacon -- about E Pills)
#7 - 8 (f/ Styles -- a smoking song)
#8 - 8.5 (about baby mama drama)
#9 - 8.5 (f/ GLC)
#10 - 7.5 (f/ Tru Life & Peedi Crakk -- about eating out women)
#11 - 9 (nice beat --a bout his come up in the rap game)
#12 - 8 (song about out drinking many others in the rap industry)
#13 - 8 (f/ KC)

3.0 out of 5 stars What happened to him?, January 9, 2008
I first heard about Victor Santiago when he was one half of Capone-N-Noreaga (CNN to you underground heads) and they released the stellar album The War Report. But after Capone went to prison (again), Noreaga released a solo album, N.O.R.E., which was just as great, if not greater. But then he released an album called Melvin Flynt da Hustler that was so bad that I couldn't even finish listening to it. Because of that, I didn't pick up his following album God's Favorite (which was the point where he changed his tag to N.O.R.E.). Now he comes back at us with Noreality, his first album on Babygrande.

N.O.R.E. still has the same voice and energy that he always had, but the problem is that he just doesn't have anything to say any more. A lot of the songs have wack choruses, like "Throw `Em Under the Bus", "The Rap Game", the childish "Green Light", and "Pop a Pill". The obligatory sexual song "Eat P" also falls into that category, but it's also bizarre in that the hook has N.O.R.E. saying: "If you wanna get your p ate/Girls make noise", but then MEN scream. But the rest of that song isn't all that either, as Peedi Peedi's final verse makes the song go from disgusting to painful; and N.O.R.E. says something about gettin' "that Rodney King can't-we-all-just-get-along p". Huh?

Disappointments continue, as "Shoes" is a lame song about how sexy women look in certain kinds of footwear, and "Paternity Test" is hard to get into. "Cocaine Cowboys" is about as interesting as "Cocaine Business" (from Melvin Flynt da Hustler), and the final minute of an already dull "Drink Champ" has N.O.R.E. talking about eating pizza with his friends for some reason. While the Three 6 Mafia-assisted "That Club Ish" (although the Triple 6's are only there during the chorus) is decent, it definitely isn't enough to save the album. N.O.R.E. must be in dreamland if he thinks this album is realistic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Straight garbage!!!, September 1, 2007
By J. M. Vazquez (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Nothing but garbage from beginning to end. This must've taken N.O.R.E. all of two days to put together...at least that's how it sounded. He's never been a strong lyricist (but I still liked N.O.R.E. and God's Favorite), but this puts him at the very bottom of the skilled lyricist list.

Don't waste your money!!!
