The Norelco Advantage Shaver is the best electric shaver I used to date. I myself have sensitive skin so I tend break out around my neck from standard shavers and electric shavers. The "Advantage" to this shaver is that is has a built in Gel or Lotion to help smooth out your shave, along with great cutting "Lift and Cut" blades. Also you can use it with water too. With the Lotion it acts as a nice smooth shaving surface keeping your skin protected. The Lotion acts as a moisturizer making you skin feel soft and shaver burn free. Cleaning is simple with just a flip of the shaver lid. You can then rinse it out with warm water and then your done. Charging is done with a neet stand and the shaver lasts up to 45 minutes. The unit includes a snap on side burn trimmer. The shaver itself feels like a solid piece with excellent construction and not that "Cheap Plastic" feel to it. Extra items in the kit are 10 free packs of Shaving gel and lotion, a carry case, a brush, and a good instruction manual. I recommend reading the warrenty information too. It is good for 2 years for most of your service problems. So for those of you not sure of getting an electric, your money will be well spent on this shaver, especially people with sensitive skin. They do make lower models too (under a ($$$)) whichare also the same unit with less features but they other the same benifits of a close, soft and comfortable shave.

I upgraded to this razor from another brand which I felt was too rough on my face. This razor gives a nice smooth and quiet shave. The lotion dispenser works well.
My two issues with the razor are:
* Portability - The recharge holster is a modern looking gadget which looks cool but is too bulky for light traveling. In addition it needs a flat surface to sit on making it difficult to recharge at the nearest outlet to your suitcase in a hotel room.
* Detached trimmer - My biggest disappointment with the razor is that the trimmer is a separate attachment that requires you to remove the shave blades and push in a different top. I prefer the all-in-one units with the flip-up trimmer. When I'm shaving (either in shower, bathroom sink, or car on the way to work) I don't really want to fumble with different attachments just to trim the side burns.
Overall, nice shave but a bit clumsy on the usability. For me it's not worth the upgrade cost - I will probably return this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best electric I have ever owned., October 4, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor (Kitchen)
Best shave by far. And it is easy on the skin. Many pre-existing skin problems have made shaving with a razor impossible. I am able to shave regularly again. It is very friendly to people who have frequent encounters with dermatologists and liquid nitrogen treatments. Shaving around the healing areas is much easier with this razor than with the blade shaver I was using.

4.0 out of 5 stars Close shave when you use the gel feature, November 19, 2003
This review is from: Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor (Kitchen)
This product delivers when you take the time to wet your face and use the included shaving cream/gel. It provides a very close shave with little irritation (rarely any). However, if you're going to wet your face down apply shaving cream and shave, why not use a blade?

When used for a quick, dry, shave, this product does an average job. It gives me a relatively close shave, but irritation is definitely increased.

Decent shaver, not sure if its worth the money though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Electric Shaver I have ever used, October 23, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor (Kitchen)
The Norelco advantage model shaver has given me the best shave I have ever experienced with electric razors. My razor is not completely waterproof, however, as I have been plagued by water leaking in through the push button switch and causing the razor to stop working until it is thoroughly dried out. I have also found that the shaving gel cartridges that Norelco sells are inconvenient to use and expensive, so I use almost any kind of skin lotion instead, which also has the advantage of leaving my face with no irritation and a noticeable feeling of comfort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your ordinary electric razor, December 26, 2002

This review is from: Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor (Kitchen)
I have gone through several razors over the years, my first electric razor being one of the first 3 blade types by Norelco. Let me just say, Norelco has come a long way. I have never had a closer shave, and my skin feels great afterwards. I have really sensitive skin, and a stubly scottish red beard, and this razor does the trick. It works great in the shower, and the gel that comes with works pretty good,(although to save money I would just use soap, it works just as well)All in all this is one of the best investments I have made in a long time, and you will not be disapointed

I've had mine for about 1 year, and it is a great shaver, except I'd like to see the lotion come in a bottle or tube that you could apply to your face like other pre-shave lotions. the little cartrages are expensive and last about 1 week. Some stores don't carry them all the time, and if you run out, you have to wait until they come in, or wait for snail-mail to deliver them. Other than that, it works well wet or dry. You have to figure in the yearly cost of the cartrages to see what it will cost you to shave for a year.

This product is a great value and it works very well. If you find the included gel and lotion useless just use shaving cream/gel and you will have the closest shave you have ever had w/ or w/o a traditional razor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly good, December 15, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor (Kitchen)
Has some faults, is a bit slow in shaving, does not get a very close shave and cleaning it under water, as touted to be a good feature, only makes it more difficult, as the hairs dry up and get stuck in the blade section of the razor.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST ELECTRIC SHAVER OUT THERE ! ! !, January 29, 2004
This review is from: Norelco 6756X Deluxe Advantage Wet/Dry Cordless Men's Razor (Kitchen)
I have had a Norelco 6756X for well over a year and have loved it. The only thing I would advise is to heat the gel/lotion before use and run some hot water over the blades. This razor recharges amazingly fast (unlike the other wet models) and holds it charge for well over a week at a time. I have taken it in the shower, on the road, etc. and it has performed exceptally well. Definitely a spendy purchase, but money well spent all the same. Awesome!!!!
