This razor is perefect, because it shaves well and is good for sensitive skin since it can be used with shaving lotions.
Even if you run out of the lotion packets that go in the razor, you can still use other lotions as you would with a manual razor. Since it is wet/dry you can save time by shaving in the shower too. I have tried several razors and this one is the best for sensitive skin, I shave my head with it too and it hardly even irritates my skin then either. Of course, your skin may be different than mine. I bought one four years ago and it still works fine, so the quality is certainly solid. I can't say how it compares to other models however. I can't imagine anything that could be much better.

Having read the glowing reviews from others I was anxious to receive this shaver. When it finally arrived I made sure to charge it up (takes a long time initially 6-8 hrs.) then finally tried it on a 2 day stubble. Well, I wasn't impressed with the shave, it was irritating, uncomfortable, and the gel dispensing gadget was awkward to use. I decided to give this unit the benefit of the doubt because it does state to give it at least 3 weeks for your skin to grow accustom to shaving by this method.
Well, here I am 3 weeks later and I'm still not impressed with the shave. I particularly get skin iritation along my neck (burns quite a bit) and it's hard to taper shave near side burns. I've also tried different methods of shaving from: in the shower, over the sink, pre-wash and lubricate with skin lubrication lotion, and just flat out dry shave (very uncomfortable!). Another minus is the charge does not last very long, the shaver peters out after about 2 shaves of about 5-8 minutes (maybe I have a faulty battery?..) I end up having to charge it often. I now decided to go back to using a Braun shaver, which I should have purchased in the first place! My previous one was very good, but i decided to give Norleco a chance...oh well, I guess I'll just have to give it to my nephew - he thinks it looks cool, and he just started shaving! Pros: Ummm...it looks cool Cons: -Terrible shave -weak charge -lift and cut system is not effective -very irritating along neck area -takes long to fully charge -lubricating feature very awkward to use and can get expensive -cleaning is tedious In my opinion go with a foil system instead like a Braun, Panasonic, or even Remington. This system is much more effective and although primarily expensive, it will more than make up for the price in a closer shave and not having to buy lubricating lotion, shaving cream and razor blades.

An excellant wet/dry razor,
This review is from: Mens Electric Razor (Electronics)
The Norelco 6705x is the best norelco I've had yet! I have been a Norelco man for many years and they have always performed well. This model though blows the other electric razors away! The wet/dry feature is great but with the lotion feature this is the bomb in the shower or not in the shower. I used to use my old norelco only when it wasn't hot or humid out, due to the usual razor burn and irratation you get with elcetric razors. Now with this norelco I never have this problem and I can shave with it everyday or even twice to get rid or that 5 o'clock shadow if I'm going out later. If you are looking to buy a wet/dry elecrtic razor THIS IS THE ONE! you won't be disappointed and your skin will love you for it. Try it you'll be glad you did!

This is the best shaver that I have ever owned. I love the fact that you can use it in the shower and not ruin it. Dry shavers always irritate my neck, with this the gel packs make for a nice clean close shave with out irritation. HIGHLY recommend spending the money for this shaver.

The best shave with an electric,
By
This review is from: Mens Electric Razor (Electronics)
To be honest I was a bit skeptical about how effective this razor would be. Most electrics don't get anywhere near as close as a razor, and they usually tear up your face if you haven't shaved in over a day. Yet, I was very interested in this product and really wanted to give it a try to see how effective it was. Now that I have purchased this product and used it, I can honestly say that it shaves very closely, very smoothly, and is very comfortable. The Nivea lotion is comforting and makes the blades glide over your face. Moreover, the lotion smells very nice so it's very pleasant and leaves your face feeling very smooth. Although this product will not shave as close as a razor it still gets very close and I believe will be appreciated by most users. This is one product I would definitely recommend to anyone who is curious.

If you like spending 20+ minutes to get a close shave...,

First of all, let me say I think the shaver itself works well. But it requires A LOT of time. Let me explain:After every shave you are supposed to run hot water to clean the top out. What happens to me is that the hot water makes the little hairs gel together and they become stuck in the 3 heads. So basically every day I shaved, I'd have to go in with a brush and brush the little hairs out of the 3 heads, which takes a couple minutes EVERY DAY. Now as to the shave itself --- I have to go over the skin several times and press hard to get a close shave. Also, I found it necessary to clean up afterwards with a razor blade (used Gilette Sensor) to get a really close shave. Put it all together and you've got a 20 minute time investment to get a decent shave. Furthermore, the Nivea lotion packets will run you a lot of money. They average $1 per lotion cartridge. I went through 1 cartridge every 2 weeks or so... basically it's another $25 per year you gotta spend to operate this thing. So in terms of time and money spent, this shaver was not good, although the shave was an improvement. Recently I was told by the owner of the local shaving supply store how to get a great shave and I will share the secret with you all now. Step 1- Shave at the end of your shower with the Gilette Sensor 3-blades model and a fogless mirror. Step 2- Shave with an electric (I use the Norelco Quadra Action) immediately after your shower and after drying your face. The first step shaves most of the hair, and the second step gets any spots you missed. Your face will not be irritated and you won't bleed or have any cuts. Your shave will also take less time and be UNBELIEVABLY CLOSE. We're talking BABY SKIN here!!! Finish up by applying some moisturizer to your shaved skin and you're ready to roll! I'm 28 years old, shave every day, and have tried every shaving method... this method I described is by far the best, and I won't be changing back. I wouldn't by this razor... instead by some 3-blade Sensors and a Quadra Action Norelco and follow the instructions above.

The best razor for the price,

I have been using this razor for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it. I love it so much that last week it got knocked off my balcony and broke and I went out and got a brand new one. I just couldn't justify switching to any other razor. It's great!

Great Razor,

This is a great razor. If it hurts you, you are pushing too hard. It gets as close as a normal razor, but is much more even all across the face. I was shocked at how smooth and close it got, but even more shocked at how consistant the cut was. Plus, I like being able to shave in the shower if I want to, though I don't use that as much as I orginally thought I would.

I'm 42, and had never used an electric razor...then I injured myself in the shop and am temporarily one-handed. A friend bought me this shaver almost as a joke. I LOVE it. My wife commented how closely it shaves. She's the acid test as far as that goes. :-) Highly recommended product.

Ripped my neck up.,
By
This review is from: Mens Electric Razor (Electronics)
I find it interesting that all the reviews up to this point say how this razor is good for sensitive skin. This razor ripped up my neck and throat every time I used it. I don't consider myself to have sensitive skin so this was a suprise to me. In my life I've used every kind of blade and electric razor out there and I've never had this problem. The instructions say to use the razor for 30 days so your skin can get used to it. I used this razor for six months with no improvement. I finally threw it in the garbage out of frustration. I gave it two stars because on my face it worked ok (not great) and I did like to be able to use it in the shower. My next electric will be a Braun.
