Wheels kits such as this usually sell for twice the price and this one is well made. The only flaw is the use of inflatable wheels as the tubes will fail over time and are not something you can find at local stores and they need to be constantly refilled with air.

The instructions call for using six 5/16" bolts to mount them with is excessive. Only four are needed to provide more than enough strength. A 5/16" bolt will withstand a shear load of over 4,000 lbs. and no one is going to use these wheels on a 16,000 lb. boat and motor setup.

although I was disappointed that as soon as I received the wheels, I had to go to the hardware store to buy bolts and screws which were not included, but listed in directions, I like the product. Easy to figure out installation, but I take to wheels off once in the water to have full range of motion with my motor. they tend to get in the way when steering, but no bog problem. they snap on and off easily. the wheels make it easy for my wife to move the boat to the launch area and around at home when needed.

These are a great buy, if you're comfortable doing some problem solving that may require modifications to your transom.

They worked well on a 10' x 48" Jon boat. I completely stripped and overhauled my little boat, so was able to work these in without any issues, but prospective buyers who own jon boats (I suspect any metal boat) should note:

- You will have to supply your own hardware to mount the wheel brackets to your transom. The instructions indicate you need washers, locknuts and bolts (and their sizes), however as installation conditions will vary, you will have to figure out how long your bolts need to be for your transom. In my case, I used both 2" and 1.5" bolts and still had to use a dremel cutting disc to remove extra bolt length afterwards. It is not one size fits all.

- Your transom must be thick enough to allow the wheel brackets to mount plumb to the outer edge of your stern. So, if your stern has a metal edge that protrudes from either its top or bottom (mine has an edge all the way around the perimeter of the stern), your transom must be, at the least, thick enough to be flush to the top and bottom metal edges. Otherwise, the brackets won't allow enough range of motion to lock the wheels in place.

- Your transom must must be wide enough to accommodate the wheel brackets without interfering with the range of motion of your outboard motor. This was not an issue for me, as I was cutting a new transom as part of my overhaul, so I cut my new transom extra wide to allow for the wheels to be installed wide. Again, one size will not fit all - you'll have to figure this out for your application.

While you still need to purchase mounting hardware, (in my case, I used four 5/16" stainless bolts, nuts, and washers), it is still a good deal, and the quality is decent.

The superb quality of this wheel system is second to none. You can find similar wheels for more money, but why would you pay more? Someone mentioned that these wheels came with no instructions, but with all due respect, neither does a package of bubble gum. This is a very simple, quality, expert design at a very fair price. If you need instructions to mount these wheels then you may not be capable of safely operating your boat in the first place. Two thumbs up for this order!

Bought a set for my zodiac and don't know how I managed without them. People stare as I walk past them on the beach and right into the water to launch the boat. Quality is excellent for my 300# boat and motor. Another great Amazon purchase.

Very disappointed wheels seem ok but the lack of instructions and hdw. Make it a real pain to install. I would think twice before ordering again
