We got 8 sets for our wedding 10 years ago. Not a piece has broken(granted..we only use it on special occasions..)but I'm glad we registered for this pattens. It really is very lovely.

We received our place setting well before Christmas, as we had timed it a little late! I was concerned about breakage etc. but every single piece was perfect. Great price too and much more convenient than the runaround I got at The Bay.

This was a "desperate" purchase, as I needed a new plate for my good china in time for Christmas. Not only did I get a plate, but purchased the entire setting for the price of one plate on other sites. Even in the Christmas rush my setting arrived on the day the seller stated it would. Wonderful seller, great bargain, and we all got to use the same china for our Christmas meal!

My husband and I decided on these after looking at several Mikasa plates. Noritake has some of the best styles I have ever seen. Very delicate. The platinum specifically is a lot more sophisticated looking, rather than a romantic gold.

These plates are not real heavy or light, but definitely need to be hand washed. I DO NOT suggest washing these in the dishwasher. They look as though they can break easily, although I've read that they have lasted a long time without any breakage.

The platinum layer on the design is gorgeous and thick. They look very formal and would be a great wedding gift. I thought they'd be too simple, but the design really gives it a less simple look than I was expecting. The pictures don't do them justice. Surprisingly more bold.

The Noritake brand is great either way in my opinion, and I highly suggest them. If you don't decide on these, you HAVE to check out their other plates..they are so beautiful.

My favorite from this set are the cups, very pretty.

The packaging was perfect. Nothing broken whatsoever, and nicely protected in their box. The boxes they come in are really nice, and you can keep them stored in those since they are sturdy and nicely designed.

As far as worth goes, these were worth it at this price because of the heavy platinum coating..they certainly didn't give it just a cheap layer as I mentioned. And the porcelain is a very nice color.

I don't think they would've been worth retail however.

BTW: I bought 5x the 5-piece set, which is five 1-person settings. That saved me a lot of money doing it that way, rather than buying the 4-person setting plus an extra one. Or, the 8-person set up, which was twice as much.

I think you'll be pleased. We love them!
