5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Comic Strip out there!, January 3, 2001

Michael Jantze's "The Norm" has really renewed my faith in the daily comic strip. Norm doesn't sit there and make political statements ad nauseum, instead he comments on life, love, and the pursuit of the "perfect dot com career". Norm doesn't always win, but he manages to stay ahead of the curve thanks to his friends and family. Just like us. This series has really taken some chances by refreshing characters and changing plots, instead of regurgitating old stale ones. Pick up this series and any that Jantze offers and laugh a little. It's what helps relieve the day to day stress. Isn't that what comics are supposed to do?

If you've ever read The Norm, then you know. Jantze has outdone every cartoonist out there in wit, graphical style, and heart (Norm reminds me of a grownup Calvin) -- a contemporary addition to the long legacy of American newspaper comic classics. These compilations are great (the only bummer is: no sundays), hope he keeps doing these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious (note the capital H), August 14, 2001

The Norm is a comic strip that manages to capture the magic of the classics. All the while, it brings a fresh approach and deals with topics relevant to modern life. Norm is just a young guy dealing with the complexities of a tumultuous industry (dot coms), the pursuit of love and the trappings of everyday living. What is especially great is the depth of all of the supporting characters and the engaging story lines that Mike comes up with. Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on The Norm and his many Normisms.
