Book Description

Pub landlords are being murdered in Norfolk!

Thelonious T. Bear, ursine photojournalist, leaves behind the big city life of London to take an assignment in the Norfolk countryside, where he hopes to find the real England. Instead he stumbles upon gastro-pubs, crazed Audi drivers and murder. As the hapless Thelonious keeps ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time, he attracts the attention of Detective Chief Inspector Horatio Sidebottom of Norfolk Constabulary CID, who’s determined to tie Thelonious to the crimes. Add in a pair of hoods from London’s East End, celebrity TV chef Paolo Louis Black, and plenty of oddball local characters and it all adds up to a madcap journey through England’s most quirky county, where everything is normal for Norfolk!

From bestselling author Mitzi Szereto, co-authored with her celebrity sidekick bear Teddy Tedaloo.

“For anyone who’s ever wondered what Paddington at Large would have been like if it had been written by Raymond Chandler—and who hasn’t?—Mitzi Szereto has the answer. Like Philip Marlowe, Szereto’s Thelonious T. Bear is a modern knight errant who plays it cool even as the light of suspicion shines on him. And like Paddington, he’s short of stature and long on charm. If you like your sleuths tough, cynical and cute as a button, Normal for Norfolk is the book for you.” —Steve Hockensmith, author of Holmes on the Range and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls

“Normal for Norfolk has it all: magic, gritty realism, humor, cultural commentary, intelligence, charm, and suspense. The hero of this novel, Thelonious T. Bear, finds himself at the heart of a mystery. He’s a photojournalist like no other, a pub-loving, anthropomorphized bear who wears cologne and a deerstalker hat. I am eager to read the next book in Mitzi Szereto’s series.” —Janice Eidus, author of The War of the Rosens and The Last Jewish Virgin

5.0 out of 5 stars "EXCITING, INTRIGUING, ENTERTAINING!" July 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Thelonious T. Bear leaves london to take a job in Norfolk, hoping to find the wonderful England he had in mind. As his journey begins, he discovers much more than what he was searching for, including murder. In addition, his trip slowly began turning into a nightmare as he kept finding himself in the wrong place. Along his travels, he finds out about crazy drivers, rude shopkeepers, and police officers who are itching to blame crimes on him. The drama becomes intense, the colorful characters come to life, and the compelling story has you hooked in the first chapter. Mitzi Szereto and Teddy Tedaloo deliver a clever, fascinating story that has you craving for more. Does this poor Bear become a suspect for crimes he did not commit, and does Detective Horatio believe him? This touching story tugs at the heart as this Bear faces many challenges and struggles. This heartwarming story is as Enjoyable as 'TED.' Highly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read for Teddy Bears and their Humans July 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was an absolute pleasure to read. The adventures of Thelonious T. Bear in the Norfolk countryside are filled with excitement and tension. Describing the trials of everyday life that face one of his size, from driving and clothes shopping to dealing with rude shopkeepers and over-suspicious policemen, Teddy Tedaloo and Mitzi have crafted a tale that all grown-up teddy bear lovers will enjoy. One can really sympathize with all the frustrations this poor bear has to go through. Block some time to read and enjoy this book because once you pick it up you won't put it down until the last page has been finished!! I am left in anticipation of reading their next tale in the life of Thelonious T. Bear! Thank you both!!

5.0 out of 5 stars N4N is the new normal! May 14, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Following Thelonious T Bear's journey through the Norfolk countryside while on a photojournalism assignment was an entertaining adventure. The details were rich, the characters were colourful and the Norfolk countryside had a personality all of it's own. Between trying to doing his job, keeping out of the way of the over zealous local constable and finding a pint in a quiet pub, Thelonious got more than he ever expected out of his trip to the countryside. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries, bears and lots of quirky characters. For the young (not too young) and the young at heart. I hope that Mr Bear has many more adventures ahead.
